Right here goes.
The back brake light doesnt work when you use the back brake.
I have tested the switch and it works, i have also tested the join between the switch and the brake light cables, they work as well.
When i use my circuit tester between the light and the back brake, the tester lights up to say its working, but stil no light on the back.

This probly sound quite confusing, if it helps its on an aprilia rx 50.

Any one any ideas because im running out because all the normal things to go havent.

Thanks for your time.

So it works with the front?

On my senda when the battery was getting flat the brake lights went, even when the other lights worked. Once I charged the battery up they were fine. possibility?

update:

We have now got to the back light and i checked it right onto the plugs that connect to the back brake light. The front brake lights it up, im thinking possibly its not putting through enough power to light to bulb? could that be a possibility?

Complete brakelight diagnostic. In order (some you have already done):

Power going into brakelight switch when ignition on.
Switch itself working.
Power coming out of brakelight switch when pressed.
Power getting to connector at back end of loom when switch depressed.
Power getting to bulb holder when switch pressed.
Bulb intact.
Bulb making contact with holder.
Holder making contact with earth.

If all of the above works, your brake light is working and any apparent non-function is a figment of your imagination, you can tell the MOT tester I said so.
