Nice pics!

That must mean you've done a race school before on a CBR6 doesn't it?

Yes mate I did the 600's one last summer.

they are so worth the money, the blade one is much more in depth, you learn alot more, but you need to get the 600's one out the way, not that the 600's arn't a top day as well. Just the blades are better Cool .

More than worth it for anyone who wants some tips on improving there riding.

Nope, only been on track the twice.

Ron Haslam (or Hasla, the sticker feel off) is Leon Haslams father, they where both there on the day, And i got my knee sliders signed by Ron just missed Leon.

Dont think I did to bad as it was only my second every time on track.

When Fazed and me did the 600 day we met Ron and got him to sign our lids and were out on track at the same time as Leon - he was so fast it was unbelievable Shocked

It was your comment of:

Can't comment myself, but from what I've heard they aren't actually that great value for money compared to doing three trackdays, or whatever.

I'd defeinitely reccomend going to a 'normal' trackday and seeing how you find it, obviously it depends on the person etc Smile.

In terms of track time they are expensive but you get a such good quality instruction, you use there bike etc etc in the short time your on track you learn more than any trackday!!

I ride with people who do trackdays, some of them came with us to the school, they are all going again!.

It the instruction and the use of there bike and gear your paying for. in my eyes very very worth it. my riding is so much smoother and faster.

The first few trackdays I did, I learnt a whole lot.

I then bought a copy of 'a twist of the wrist' and learnt a whole lot more myself.

I'd prefer to learn to ride my own bike, definitely no way I'd ride in someone else's gear - not that my leathers fit great though.

It obviously depends very much on the people involved.
I've heard from people that may be similar to myself that Ron Haslem isn't actually that great as a school for actually learning to go fast compared to, say, the late ESS.

Well I cant fault the race school mate, I love it and I have learnt so much both times I've been.

The twist of the wrist books, are good but at the end of the day its a theory, yes its rite, but you have to go out and practice it un-supervised, theres no one to say " no hang on your doing that abit wrong try this" etc etc!

You pays your money and makes your choice, for me it works and its value for money, for someone else it might not be, but my advice is to just try it out.

I had been riding just under a year when I went to Ron Haslam's and wished I had done it much earlier. I learnt more in that day than the year before on the road. Best thing I ever did for my riding.

Now I've done that I know the basics of track riding and have somewhere to start from in the right direction, rather than going on a normal trackday and having to work it out for myself Thumbs Up

Hey Slickfish,

Glad to hear you had a good time. My workmate is an instructor on the 1000rr's at Haslam race school. He raced British Supersport aainst some of the big names and to be honest he reckons ESS is overated. You will learn far more with instruction from ex racers at Haslam race school then you will doing some regular track day thats for sure. I plan to go down with him next year to gain some good tips from him. He's doing supermoto now so I will be going to build up my race experience as a mechanic for him
