try cleaning the disks with brake disc cleaner. If it does what it claims to do then it will stop any squeeking as well as sharpening your brakes.

House of muc off do it for around £6.00 and lasts for donkeys.

You could take your pads out and put some copper slip on the back of them.

If the squeaking is coming from the pads contacting with the disk, how will this make any difference Confused Surely sticking copper slip on the back of pads is to stop them siezing onto the pistons?

Or perhaps your pads are simply fooked and require replacing? Wink

Your pads might be glazed, which certainly causes squeaking with drum brake shoes. Time to get out the sandpaper to clean up the pad surface perhaps.

However, drilled discs are supposed to clean the face of the pads.

Hi

Copper slip on the back of the pads does help. One of the main claims for doing this is that it stops the pads squeaking (never heard a good reason why except that is allows the pad to move on the piston slightly, and it seems to work).

Squeaking is also often triggered by brake dust so worth cleaning them up

However, check the pads carefully. The rear pads do not last long on the RS if you use them much (same for the other bikes that use that caliper, such as the NSR). And the RS seems to eat front pads (my RS has almost worn out its 3rd set of pads in 17000km).

All the best

Keith

works as sound deadening, stops some frequency resonance. Normal grease would do the same but is likely to liquidify and fall off in a very short time.
