Hi,

Just out for a wee blast up the side of Loch Earn.

Having a great run and getting some nice lean angles on the bike (only had it a few weeks so still getting used to it).

Anyway, nearly binned it on a right hander when I ventured onto the unused part of the front tyre!!!

Just felt it slide away suddenly. Instinct made me pick the bike up and I took it easy the rest of the way home.

Now, the ZZR has 60 profile tyres, so the front is quite an extreme radius. When I got the bike there was about an inch of unused rubber.

Well, when I got off the bike at home I checked out the tyre - you can see the skid mark quite clearly (will try to get a pic). It's about 3 inches long up the unused edge of the tyre.

Was my first ever front wheel slide and it was not a plesent experience.

I'm thinking I need to get some sand paper and rub the shine of the edge of the front tyre!

I have had a similar experience on the cat and fiddle road in Cheshire (although I imagine I was going about 30 and riding like a granny) and it really did shake me up. The front wheel just moved from under me.

At least you saved it in time and took it easy after that.
Thumbs Up

I lost the front the other day coming up to an uphill left hander, stones had spilt off a lorry which caused it to slip, it must have been amusing to see as I motocrossed it with the foot out once it went. Laughing

Your first front wheel slide?

Jeez, you've been lucky!

A good cure for constipation that is. Laughing I've had the front slide a few times since I started riding. It's not nice.

I think it's luck rather than skill that keeps you up when that happens. Confused

No. I've just had bikes with tyres that you can get to the edge pretty easy, rather than this 60 profiles that needs motoGp lean angles to get near the edge!!! Laughing
