What could the police do about visorless riders? Nothing, as it's not a legal requirement. Most people on scooters don't have visors, as we tend to have open face helmets.

Yes it is, if the helmet is made to have a visor on it, its legal to have a visor attached, it can be open or closed but must have one.

Ah, perhaps you'd like to tell that to the coppers who confiscate dark visors and make the wearer ride home without one (occasionally giving a cheap pair of sunglasses instead).

If they had a visor on their lid it'd only get in the way of lighting up the B&H hanging out of their gob.

If your visor is up you can pull it down. If its not there you can't pull it down.

Similar sort of rule to most of the MOT stuff - you don't have to have something, but if its fitted it has to work.

The law does allow a small amount of freedom, choice, and allowance for stupidity from time to time.

Up here, the scum bags on their peds.

Pull up their helmet up so it sits on top of their heads.

No gear, not even gloves.

Pure fucking idiots.

Ride around like they are f***ing Rossi.

They just look like scum.

I mean even a car driver can ride a ped with L plates.

Chav Low Life Loosers.

My instructor told me last week that the pillion equipment on the back of most bikes are manufactured so that the pillion can sit on the bike facing either way... So legally a pillion can ride a bike facing backwards...

Pure madness.

My instructor on the CBT talked about the visor thing and said it is not a legal requirement to have one. Either on a full face helmet or an open face one. She did say that it was illegal to ride with one of those flip faced helmets with the flip bit up.

I guess they take them off as all the scooters I see don't have tinted visors fitted - must be seen as trying to look like a proper biker and therefore 'uncool' to their strange chavish thought processes.

So naturally if they can't see save for squinting into the sun some unusually bright spark chav must have thought... hang on why not remove the visor so the wind makes my eyes squint for me.... To me this shows that somewhere out there is a chav with unusually high (possibly dangerous?) levels of intelligence, perhaps they are evolving..... might write a paper on this and get a doctorate for Chav studies!

there was someone on 125sporsbike forum who mentioned texting when on a ped. I'm not quite sure who it was but I have an idea.

Yep, perfectly legal (and done regularly by camera crews filming cycle races). Carried a pillion like that one. They said it was quite strange.

All the best

The open visor to me, seems like more of a target for an egg. Would I get arrested for that?

u guys are missing the point. chavs tend to have no visor because they dont have the cash for a decent helmet with a visor on it. Plus if they steal a good one, the visor wont last long in the sad life that the chav has

LMFAO "Now suck my cock"

I prefer having my visor down because it's bloody sore when a bee smacks you in the face.
