 |
|
I have me bike test next week & my theory test is in the middle of training
I'm confident on my theory but the hazard perception, I have a few questions if you may:
Does the hazard have to be on the screen to count?
How many hazards do you need to pass in each clip?
Do i NEED to get the developing hazard in each clip (Are these ones that look pretty bad like a dog in the road or ambulance?)
Do you need to click twice for any?
Why is my test in the middle of training if i fail thats gonna put off my test until i pass:evil:
Last one, Do they test you on the highway code
Much Thanks.

1) Yes the hazard has bo been on the screen to count
2) there are 15 clips, 14 have one hazard and one has two hazards
3) yeah you are scored on how early you spot the developing hazard, there give you a scoring window (time before the hazard occurs) and the earlier that you spot the hazard devolping in that scoring window the better your score, ranging from 5 for a early spot and 1 if the hazards right in front of you. a hazard is defind as something that could cause you to have to act upon it, i,e brake, change direction
4) yeah its a good idea to click more than once when you see a hazard as if you click outside the 'scoring window' then the click won't register. but be careful if you click to much the test thinks you are cheating and gives you nil points!
5) if you knew you where doing a test, i would have got the theory test over and done with before i started the training
6) yeah the thoery test is based on the highway code!
Good luck for it
also use the search function as this topic has been discussed loads and you may pick up some more tips for the test!

I have my Hazard Perception test next week, and like you i was worried about the test,,, Asda do a double cd rom for £7.50 which has all the questions and several clips that you can practice on,,, it's well worth the money and will give you a better idea of what to expect,,,,,,,,, I've been driving for fifteen years and found that on some clips i was clicking just before the scoring started,, so it's good advice to click twice,,,,,,,,
Good luck ! |

go to www.theory-test.co.uk
There's loads of info on there, and you can practice on some clips. I used them and passed 1st time. If you are going to use them drop me a PM before you sign up |

The hazard perception is a load of ballocks, and isn't good enough for testing people with enough road experience to be able to see hazards coming, rather than just reacting to them when they're well developed, like a learner car driver. ____________________ I must not be a troll...

Hi.
Ok need all the help
Do you always click when theres a junction on you're side with a car or person in it?
Are the main hazards the ones like police cars/dogs in road/bicycle swerving infront?
What other small things are there like, Mud on the roads
Do you click for speed limits.
Roundabouts etc & any help you wish to bring me.
Sorry for the hassle i guess it's my nerves .
Much Thanks. |

To answer all your questions in one go:
You click whenever YOU think there is a hazard (i.e. anything that could require you to slow down or change direction).
No, they won't give you clips with mud on the road (AFAIK).
The main hazards is stuff like cars pulling out of a hidden side road, cyclists, lorries reversing onto the road from a side road.
Another one I got was of some kids playing football in a park on the left of the road (CLICK right away ). The ball then was kicked towards the road (CLICK). Ball rolls across in front of car (CLICK). Kid runs to edge of road to fetch ball (CLICK).
You get the idea. You need to click as the hazard develops
Hope this helps
