Well a friend who is very new to biking has bought himself an RS50. Problem is that the bike is shagged (he got it cheap). I suspect it needs a top end rebuild.

Does anybody know the carb settings for an 89 RS50?
Does anybody know where i can get a manual from?

If the barrel is fucked, do you think it's worth putting a 75cc borekit on it?

Where is the cheapest place to get a rebuild kit for it?

Thanks in advance!

I can't see any aprilia bits on there sorry Confused

I'm fairly sure his bike is an AF1 though what engine it is i'm not sure.

Does anybody know of any sites that sell parts or perhaps an owners forum?

owners forum https://www.apriliaforum.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=21
manual (might or might not be the same engine) https://www.geocities.com/chatty3_2k_uk/am6manual.pdf

If its 89 its not a rs50, so probably an af1. If it is the same engine as a rs50 try www.cmpracing.co.uk for a bigbore.

When my brothers RS50 went kaput, he got a new barrel + piston from some place in the netherlands for £100.

It was a pattern one though.

89 should be an AF1 I'd imagine, and I'm fairly sure its the AM5 not the later AM6 engine
