Wheel Alignment ??

I have a gsxr600 and have owned it for 4 years (2000 model). I have just taken it for its 3rd mot, and has failed on wheel alignment. I havnt rode the bike much in the last 12 months due to work commitments and i know the bike has never been in a smash.
The mot tester showed me that the read wheel was half inch out of alignment with the front. Has anyone ever heard of this?? or know a cheap cure?

are you sure the markers are lined up on the swing arm? probibly are but worth a check. if not i'm afraid that i don't know unless there is a bow in the frame or swing arm, but i doult this aswell if the bike never been down and previous MOT's have not show anything!

Hi

The markers on the swinging arm are generally regarded as useless.

Use a long straight bar against each side of the back wheel comparing its position either side of the front wheel to get the alignment, and use the chain adjusters to get it right.

Best way to make sure the wheels are aligned up, take a tape measure and measure from the centre of the swing arm pivot point to the centre of the rear wheel spindle do this on both sides , adjust if needed keep on doing this until you have the same measurements on both sides.
