been offered a 1999 R6 (yes i know i already have one of these) as a swap for my ducati. now i know my duke is worth a bit more than the R6, but the 6 does come pre-tarted(zxr400er Wink )

is 99 reg with facelifted rear on it (does that make it arse-lifted instead??)

blue DB screen, hi level can, single seat cowl, polished rims with blue spoke Very Happy, steering damper ...blah etc

it has 12500 miles(same as when i bought the red one ) and looks pretty clean TBH.

only fucker is that i would have to drive to bloody darlington from se london (272) miles! hire a van, organise ramp , straps etc ...petrol

R6 man has said he is willing to pay petrol and costs but i would feel cheeky asking for the full amount which would be over £100 easily i imagine, but then he would be getting a good deal i feel Confused

what do you guys think??

anyone fancy a day out driving me in their van to darlington for lots of beer Wink or lending strap on......down thingys to me ??

or any other sort of advice that would make the whole thing as painless as possible ???

ta

I'd hang onto the duke and keep trying to sell her.

Does this mean you'd sell your other r6? The number of mods on that r6 probably reduces its value. Confused

I'd keep the Duke - everyone else seems to have a blue and white R6 these days.

Jonny

I personally think you should keep the Duke, its worth a load more than the R6, where have you tried selling it? Have you thought about MCN, biketrader or Ebay?

Just looked it up on Parkers

To me like every other race can on an R6. Doesnt sound too bad, its fairly loud.

Its the numberplate I recognised, seen it a couple of times riding about.

But then again its like 80% of the R6's around here.

TBH, i would hold onto the duke till you get a good price on it, IMO a R6 is a too common bike to swap it for. no offence to the bike you have now Laughing
what is wrong with the duke? ride positioning or worried you may drop it?
WN

Edit: which trackday? silverstone or brands?

Get the R6 for travelling fees and cut your losses. What would ya rather have? A Ducati in the garden and nothing more, or an R6 in the garden for your riding pleasure?

Could use the bluey R6 for when you wanna do a fun ride, and when tarting is neccessary. And the red for work/wheely practice/wet weather stuff and also when russian women knock you off!

See the two R6's are pretty much the same, so hitting 10k rpm and then dumping the clutch for a wheely would work the same on the red/blue bikes. And you can use that too ya own advantage, and enjoy the blue bike and abuse the red one!

Makes sense to me Jonny, but if you agree to £150 travelling etc fees to darlington then you will not end up paying that cash all on petrol, and can enjoy the shiny new bike!!

Buy some auto glym just in case it ever gets diiirrty.

Too much fcuking money, thats what you have!!!

276 miles is nothing, I travelled 380 to Wales by train, picked up my new Ninja and rode it home. Awake for a whole day straight!

I'd rather have the Duke than 2 R6's (ten to a penny!) although it does look nice in the photos I wouldn't want to own 2. The Duke will sell in time. Thumbs Up
