Me and the Moomin are doing Route 66 by bike next year and one of the possible steeds is the GS - trouble is that I'm not sure I can fit on one! Has anyone nearby (I'm in Stoke, in case you didn't know) got one that I could have a butchers at and a sit on?

Can't you visit your nearest BMW dealership and have a sit on one McJam?

I'd have thought they'd have one at least for people to look at if not test ride.

Although, they are meant to be in demand, so maybe not.

BMW dealerships are normally very obliging and very helpful. Even though my Mum hadn't ridden anything bigger than her old CG125 for the last 30 odd years, they were quite happy to let her take out an F650 for a day to test.

Obviously a 1150 will be worth about 3 times as much, but I can't see why they wouldn't let you take it out for a test ride.

I can see why there would be a problem - it's been superceded by the R1200GS, meaning they're only likely to have used ones in the shop.

Considering how popular they are it may be a task tracking one down to test ride, before you even consider how Col is going to persuade the dealer he is in fact serious about buying it Laughing

Col, Williams BMW have a Used 1150 in stock, no doubt they'd let you test ride it too, as they let me out on an F650CS.
