Grrrr!!! Some fucking no good arsewipe kicked my bike over last night!! I think they were probably going to nick it then realised it wasn't worth nicking (GS500 Smile ) so kicked it over. Luckily there isnt much damage, apart from my mirror snapping off, but I'm still very fucking pissed off!!!!

So my question is about getting a new mirror (or new set of mirrors if need be). Basically I've got the TCP elliptical fairing on my GS500 so I don't know if I need to find specific mirrors to fit it or if I can get some generic ones that will fit? I'll post some pics of them shortly.

Cheers,

Dan

If anyone has an old GS500E faired version or even a new GS500F could you please do me a massive favour and have a look at your mirrors and compare how they look to mine in the pic? I have a feeling that they might fit, they look very similar. This would help me out a great deal!!!

If no-one has checked by tomorrow, drop me a PM to remind me and I'll go out and have a look at mine. Thumbs Up

I would look now, but it's absolutely pi$$ing it down outside, and the bikes got the cover on.

(If you don't remind me I will forget Confused )

I have dodged the showers and been out and had a look and they look almost identical to the ones in your photo.

I have done some rough measurements and the distance between the centres of the two screw holes is 40mm and the mirror measures approximately 130mm x 90mm.

If I had a digi camera I could have taken a photo - but I don't, so I can't Laughing

Let me know if you need 'owt else.

ps My bike is the fully faired '94 GS500e.

Hey, have you got a picture of the Eliptical fairing on your bike mate?

Would be interesting to see what it would look like on my old GS.

Further to post my regarding your mirror - it's no wonder they are the same size, we have the same fairing (albeit mine is far gayer).

(Don't 'spose you want to swap? Laughing )

Snip!: Actually you might be able to answer a question for me. If you stand at the back of your bike, is the fairing on the left and right the same distance from the frame? I have just put the fairing back on mine and the right hand side sticks out about an inch further than the left.

Hmmm, I thought the fairing on the older style GS was different to the one I had!? Ahh well, I'm gonna ring a spare parts place tomorrow who I think may have some.

Oh, I'll check that left/right fairing thing out tomorrow and let you know.

Phew - cheers for that. It's a weird one, but obviously Suzuki had some reason for it. Confused

I know, I know Embarassed I even bought some spray to do it a couple of months ago, but then couldn't get the bloomin' pipes off.

I've been too lazy to nip out and get that BBQ paint you brushed on yours. I'll get around to it eventually...
