a real clip from Avon Park at the weekend (I think) of the quickest Street Busa outside of the USA

7.821 second quarter mile at 185mph

https://www.crankfilms.tv/clocks.mpg

again, that is real - just watch how quickly the speedo needle sweeps around to 185mph

and no, it doesn't have wheelie bars, it's a street bike

and yes, you see - you really can use all that power - all 500+bhp of it Shocked

The fact that you see the clouds move across the top of the screen indicates that it is going bloody quickly. Very Happy The guy on that must have a strong grip! Shocked

Hi

So, how inaccurate as 'busa clocks Wink .

There are bikes around whose rev counters don't manage to move as quick as that speedo.

All the best

it can't be geared down that much as it hit top gear but was doing a genuine 185mph through the speed trp at the end of the quarter

it would have to sweep pretty quick to get ALL the way round in less than 8 seconds Shocked

like I said, the really funny thing is watching the speedo catch up with rpm as the wheel is spinning Shocked

I've just been talking to 'Richard' at TTS about getting a blown BUSA.. I'm looking to buy a NEW BUSA in January and run it in before giving it to RICHARD to fit a 'ROTEX' supercharger to it.. He recons about 215bhp at the rear wheel and quite a nice rideable torque curve.
Do you have any experience of Charged Bussa's ??

I know some people who have had variable experience with superchargers on busas and zx12r

If you are thinking of spending that kind of money then I strongly recommend you register at www.200mph.org.uk and do a search on TTS and Superchargers, you can then form your own opinion.

There are also mixed views about TTS, of course you need to form your own opinion but there are literalyy dozens of folks on 200mph who have gone down the supercharger or turbocharger route and will be able to offer you direct experience of both.

i wouldn't touch TTS with anyones bargepole Twisted Evil
richard albans has let down at least 4 www.200mph.org.uk members with his chocolate supercharger Thumbs Down

i have a velocity turbo on my busa,it has done 10000 miles with the only problems being "dognosh made" problems Embarassed

you see i wanted to fit it myself Shocked
and i did, eventually got it working properly Very Happy

it runs,at the twist of the boost knob, between 220 and 430 bhp

on the road i run 220 to 280 bhp

talk to sean at BIGCC racing if you're interested

but beware
SERVICE intervals are a lot shorter !
(i change oil and filter between 1000 and 1500 miles)
you need to keep your eye on everything all the time
but if you do you will have an awesome bike on the road
on stock gearing it wheelies in 5th and 6th at high horsepowers
and in 4th with only 280 bhp

also cost of it goes up hugely if you want more than 280 bhp on tap
(engine needs to be beefed up,also clutch)

it's a pussycat if you want it to be but wind the throttle open and ...

Shocked

sensor not connected

let me tell you something about that bike
the only way it can get to anywhere near 8 or less seconds is if everything is at it's optimum
and sometimes if pushed too hard it goes pop

but not on mine as i run it in 'safe mode' Wink

Spoke to TTs a couple of years ago about getting an item repaired and was told it was impossible and they wouldn't even look at it.

Spoke to someone else and it turned out they repaired these items for TTS and did it for me for a third of the price. TTS had fallen out with them so wouldn't pass on any business.
