... from a car site. I have to say on reading about near misses you guys have with cars its made me more alert on the roads when I'm in the car. Seriously. Its made me think more so that can't be bad.

Anyway I hope I'll be welcome here as a non-bike owner. I've always quite fancied it but I don't suit the biker image with me being skinny and geeky looking! I'm also a coward and know I'd be dead inside of a week. Maybe someone can persuade me!

Of course you're welcome, many others on this forum don't own a bike also, and a driver informed of our woes is an informed driver, one less we have to worry about on the road Thumbs Up

Howdy.

Its an internet forum, lots of the kids on here are skinny and geeky looking.

Like these two:

Welcome - but watch your step or us big hard bikers'll come and kick your mirrors off.

And if you're a coward you're less likely to be dead in a week (I've lasted seven!).

Pluck up the courage, get some training, get a bike that suits you - we don't all ride mad sports bikes, you don't have to impress anyone.

Hey philip.

Welcome and all that. Thumbs Up

First off, I'll say forget ayour current views on motorcyclists and get to a bike meet. A fairly big one. There you'll realise theres all sorts of people from all walks of life that you'd never imagine rode a bike. Business men, street cleaners, weirdos...etc etc etc.

Haul yourself over to a bike meet, get talking to some of 'us' and you'll realise bikings a passion, a way of life for many and at the least, you could do your cbt to see if you enjoy it Wink

Welcome. I think the seeds have already been sown - you must have a yearning to become a biker otherwise you wouldn't be here on the forum! It doesn't matter what you look like (nobody sees you underneath the helmet and gear anyway) and I'm sure you will get gear to fit you if that's what's worrying you. A biker is a biker and we all look out for each other. Go for it!

Mike106c...

I'm the normal sized one and Jay12329 is the lanky chap.

Wave, the joke is deader than A-line flares with pockets in the knees!

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Don't be worrying about being a geek: for some reason wearing dead cow, sliding your head inside a dust bin shaped object and riding what to most people must look like a shell suit on wheels seems to appeal to some women!

Welcome, and as we can't ask you what you ride, what do you drive?
