Hmmm, I keep having a hankering for an R1. If they're going to bring out the new model next year I think a trade in for a pre-regged 04 model might be on the cards, especially if the new one looks as ugly as that second picture!

Second one not really loving the front end but the back is just the same as the old 2004/2005 so

That black and gold is the limited edition R1-SP (special sport, or sodding pricey)
Top spec Ohlins suspension and 10 spoke alloys improve handling.
Stock 2005 R1 = 172BHP
Limited R1-SP = 175BHP
It is 1KG heavier but the internals have been improved a great deal.
Mainly for emission laws coming in, it is cleaner, but even more powerful.
Price around £9400 - £10,000

lol, I think SP is 'Sports Performance' and it looks like it's trying to be a Ghostrider modified wannabe.
Give me that bike in the same spec but with a Gauloises paint scheme and black Marchenisi and I may think it'll look rather good.
How can it be a kilo. heavier?  |

i'll just break the mould and say i like the black/Gold R1. and i quite like the "new 06" R6. better than the current oneanyway, although i do prefer the the older one...
