Hello.

Before i get my bike i want to think of everything in advanced like insurance because if i have tpft i will have to say about my past 3 claims in my scooter years which will add on about £3000 on top of a normal quote Evil or Very Mad

So if i get tpo i will need some beast of a lock(s). All i have is a front garden (grass) & a lampost right outside my gate.

What stuff can i chuck on a bike to make thiefs (guarenteed to have a go) think ''it's not worth it lads'' The bike will probably be a 400 dunno what one yet.

P/S
If i got tpft & made a theft claim would they 100% check my past insurance for claims, They where all 2 years back.

Much thanks.

locking the frame of your bike to the lamp post would be pretty good and you could cover it with a tarp tied on with rope. you could also put disc locks on too

I'm pretty sure they will want to know about any claims or convictions no matter what level of cover you get. Strangely TPO is often more expensive than TPF&T.

How can you have 3 claims? what were they for?

Trying to lie to the insurance company can ruin your life. Them not paying out on a claim can be the least of your worries if something really bad happens. I know a guy who drove without insurance when he was younger and hit someone crippling them for life. He was sued and has spent the past 30 years paying a weekly allowance to the guy he hit.

The month's Ride magazine has a comparison of chains and locks on the market.

I'd never recommend being economical with the truth on an insurance proposal - it amounts to fraud and, at best, will invalidate your policy if you need to claim. Insurers do exchange information through different anti fraud registers with the specific aim of checking details you provide and preventing fraudulent claims.

It was a hit & run, This driver pulled out from a parking space without looking, Hit a car then hit me, She then drove of so i phoned the police & me insurance but they couldn't do anything as they didn't have her insurance, Something like that but yer it was her fault.

Just incase i will put this in a claim as i doesn't seem to effect the price by that much Confused But i did phone up about a theft & was only tpo so they said i can't claim which is good i suppose for me now. Smile
