I think it looks great as a comparison to the ER6 thingy, but a Ninja? NO WAY!!!!

This is surely either a doctored picture of something that Kawasaki are running along side the sports Ninja's, as a sport/touring Ninja?! Are they trying to cash in on their own brand name?

If this is the new sports machine for 2006, then they have ditched some great technology, such as USD forks, Radial Brakes, etc.

This has to be purely a sports touring contender! (Read cheap bike)

Just look at the handle bars, how upright? Definatly not a sports amchine!

Long live the ZX6R and the ZX6RR!

The americans call pretty much any vaguely sporty Kwak a 'ninja' though, don't they?

Tis just an ER6 with an extra decal. Smile

Yup, even the GPZ is a Ninja 500 in the States Laughing

That's the faired ER-6 with a Ninja sticker.

It is an ER6, just the new faired version, looks like someone's put some stickers on it to make it go faster.

I still think the faired ER6 is quite pretty. Better looking than the unfaired version, certainly. It's just the Kwack US fascination with whacking Ninja on anything that moves and has plastic.

Why Oh Why have they left it as a 'sit-up-and-beg' riding position. It means to be effective the whole nose fairing has to be a good 6 to 8 inches higher than an equivalent bike with clip-on's such as the SV650s. This can look fine on a half faired machine such as the fazer but not on a full fairing - the sides just look to tall Sick

As a rival to the other road going bikes it's just not going to win. They are either playing the commuter role - Bandit S, Fazer, cbrf500/600, sports role - SV650s, Raptor or street-fighter role z750, speed 4, Monster..... This just doesn't know what it is - You would have thought they would have learnt from the stunningly poor sales of the z750s. I just don't get where Kawasaki are trying to go with their road range Question

If rear seat is more flat, we can load baggage more easily!
Front half seems like tourer, but rising rear half seems like zx9r.
Racer and Tourer is mixed in this design.

rear suspension looks cool but i dont like the rest of it... doesnt have that razor edge the 636 had

It's an SV competitior/souped up GPZ500, rather than a sports bike alternative, so expect styling to match.

Hi

Suspect this is the replacement for the GPZ500. Probably badged Ninja for the US market, and I guess it will be badged something like GPZ650 for the UK, or maybe ZZR650.

The GPZ500 and even the GPX250 were both badged Ninja in the USA.

All the best

Keith

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Am I going to be confined to circa 2000 bikes for life? I HATE these new exhausts that are part of the frame, the exhausts are the one thing I love about all big bikes, and hate about small bike replicas. Small bikes have a nice look (most of the time) and then you look at the exhuast. It screams 'I like to look cool, but look at the size of my dick'. Then the big bikes say the total opposite. Smile These new fangled exhausts will have advantages, of course, 1 being you're less likely to burn yourself severely on them and ruin expensive clothing, but that's part of the fun of it! Laughing

Surely not. Too new for decent bits to be released. Shocked What are the requirements for the minitwin series anyway? Would love to hear that race. Laughing
