Hi all, i bought this vfr 750 for £500 on the proviso all monies needed for it to pass its mot were taken out of it ( Twisted Evil )

Anyhew, the last gimp who owned it obviously threw it down on its right hand side, and snapped the lockstop off (the thumb trapping fun off u-turns with no throttle control, yay)

Anyway EVERY garage ive phoned up wont touch it, so what do i do? Butter up the local arc welder? Anyone know how much it will cost roughly? I only really want it mot'ible, after that it can drop off.

Thanks in advance, richard

You could look at tapping a hole and putting a bolt in - that way you've got an adjustable lock stop!

IIRC thats an alloy frame, and the headstock is a casting, which means you need to take it to a decent welding shop used to welding ally (ideally casting as they weld differently to wrought stuff.) Its not a huge job but you will need to stip it down far enough that the welder has room to work, prolly bars off, tank off, loom out of the way, that sort of thing. It will likely cost you an hours time, - my guess, about £40.
