If it is sitting steady at that and the fan is coming on, I wouldn't worry. The scales on these temperature guages ar not all that accurate in any case.
Optimax is a higher octane fuel, this means it burns more slowly than normal unleaded and should if anything make your bike run cooler. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

My zxr always seems to stay at about a 1/3- 1/2 of the temperature gauge. The fan seems to do a good job when sitting in traffic etc ____________________ Now owner of a 1200 Bandit |

Which is kind of my point. My GPZ500s used to sit just below halfway. I put a different dash (from a later model) on it and now it sits at about 3/4. I am pretty sure changing over the instrument panel isn't causing the bike to run hot, and the temperature sender unit is exactly the same between the two models so I assume the problem is with the scale on the guage. ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink.
