Generally speaking they do, because people need money for other things including Christmas and next years model. The rubbish weather means fewer people are riding too. I wouldn't hold out any hope for trade sales, they are geared towards selling large numbers of machines and individual salesmen's circumstances probably aren't particularly important.

I would doubt if you'll see much of a reduction in prices in the next 6 weeks.

If you waited till November/December time, as McHaggis said you might find people looking to get rid of thier bikes to buy pressies and the like. You might find deals on 2005 machines from dealers right at the tail end of the year, especially if the 06 model is different to the 05 one.

If your buying used I don't think it'll matter much buying mid-October. Not sure I'd want to be buying a brand new bike then though.

they may go down in winter< but u can still pay over the odds if you dont know what something normally goes for>

i bought my bike last winter in novmebr or decmebr, but i wd have been better off buying one of the ebay bikes that are no reserve

the no reserve bikes on ebay go for a lot lower, so just look out for something you like and buy it

do a search on (NR, no reserve) in motorcylces section

Not at this time of year. Between November and December, prices may fall by maybe 5-10% as more people sell them, mostly 'fairweather bikers' and people short of cash for Xmas. Then maybe between March and April, vice versa.

If you're only looking at spending £1500 then you won't notice much of a drop in price at all - especially on the 400's as they are so popular.

The real bargains are the ones on ebay with a low starting price and no reserve.

Not everyone wants a quick sale but the guys who do have a low asking price and have no reserve. They practically give their bikes away.

'96 rs250 £1000, '00 rsv £2500, etc

Try ringing as many dealers near you and tell them what you told us, see what they have, be interested in slighty more expensive bikes and haggle haggle haggle.

p.s. i bought my ninja in january and they couldn't stop reducing the price enough.

500's might be easier to haggle on
