Sorry to all the batty's, its not what you think...
Left my helmet unattended in the office last night, as I quite often do. Small office with limited access, and trusted persons anyway.
Finish work this morning, go to bike and then notice the large amount of hole punched, paper circles that had been tipped inside my lid....
I do see the practical joke side of it, due to me stood there in the pouring rain, trying to expel all the bits of paper.... but I also think its a bit out of order too, due to the fact that its my only physical protection for a quite important bodily part.
How do I not know that during the pranksters fun and games, the helmet inadvertantly slipped from their grasp and smacked onto the corner of the table or just plain fell on the floor.....
Is it just me, or would any of you lot feel a bit like this?
I certainly wont be leaving said lid there anymore.
P.S. I know who it was, any slick suggestions for retaliation? ____________________ Mungel

In my previuos workplace, people played pranks non-stop. In fact I think most of the day was taken up with it So I got used to it. I wouldn't worry about it, I'm sure they probably didn't drop your helmet. Reataliation is definately needed - no matter what anyone says, revenge is definately sweet Amusing post-it-note on someones back is a quick and simple one and usually is very good at causing embarassment |

i know what you mean as i do a similar thing and leave my helmet on the top of a cupboard, no one has touched it as of yet, but if something similar happened to me as you then i would be a bit hacked off. i'd find that person and just exlplain to them that your helmets the only thing that stops your head exploding like a melon in a bad off, and it being tampered with it in anyway is basically out of order! as you say you don't know if someone dropped it!
as for retailiation don't think you should do anything as this could lead to a whole cycle of events of practical jokes involving your helmet, IMO just give them a talking to. but if you really want to retailiate, cress in the keyboard?

while im at college (im sure one or 2 others do this too) i keep my jacket on my chair and my lid next to the computer (well never more than a few feet from me anyway, last year i spent about 90% of my time on a computer because it was a computer course) no 1 screwed with it while i was away either (mabe because they knew if they dropped it with visable marks on the lid id beat them senseless around the head with it till they can no longer breathe)
mabe you should do the same if they do drop it and bugger your lid? ofcorse if anyone asks where you got the idea from it wasent me |

Personally, I'd ask them to buy me a new one (except that my current one I take to work has a load of scratches where it's hit the ground after me r6 threw me off) - that way not only do you get money for a new helmet, but you don't get done for GBH, and you have a working helmet which isn't covered in brains, win . |

I've got a few spare ones ya can have - I want a signed disclaimer though, so that /I/ don't get done for GBH! |

Go to supermarket and buy one large kipper. Open the guys computer tower while on his dinner break/away from office. Rest kipper on motherboard, and replace cover....
Sooner or later that bugger is gonna cook, and the smell should be pretty vile. Just be careful you don't get caught.

Perhaps this lady is looking for a bit of attention? *wiggles eyebrows* Remember your school days, you tormenting the living hell out of the one you fancied....jumpers for goal posts...hmmh...
What I don't get is how they managed to fill the inside of your helmet with teeny tiny bits of paper, if you had kept it safely on it's base, surely it would have all just fell out again when you picked it up? unless you left it rolling about upside down...
As for the seriousness r.e. damage, do what you'd do with anything else you valued, put it somewhere where no one can get to it, like a locker or something, you wouldn't leave your wallet with £200+ sat on a desk would you, no matter how much you 'trusted' the people you worked with.
Retaliation = Laxative powder...Kettle..jobs a good un' ____________________ Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation.

I'm with you on this one. I don't think that non-bikers truely understand what it is they are doing when fussing about with your lid.
One night when finishing work a colleague picked up my helmet and tossed it to me rather quickly. I pointed out the error of his ways and he understood. Needless to say the chin padding fell out on the ride home at night and was never recovered. 6 weeks old and the bastards I brought it off reckon they cant order em in to Australia.
Anyway I think if someone is reasonable about it once told they wont do it again. If you don't tell them how will they know.
If all else fails you could always put forward a formal complaint.
If you chose to get them back be aware that you are pretty much saying its ok and it will be open season on your lid. |

I left my hemet on top of my toolbox at work thinking it would be safe as most people in my section are ok. I came back from a job to find it had dissapeared. I knew sombody had hidden it somewhere, I asked around quickly and everybody said "dunno". So instead of getting wound up like they wanted to see me I went out the section and came back with the security supervisor to tell my manager that I'm reporting a theft! Fair to say the helmet tuned up pretty quickly ____________________ Current; 10' Aprilia Dorsoduro 750.

I enjoy blissful ignorance to be honest. I dont fear death, i fear no one caring. Therefore if some absolute tosser has smashed it against lockers at work repeatedly, and its now as useful as an eggbox... so be it.
Does annoy me though, but i cant work myself up to caring. Other things annoy me far more, like pillions who JUMP off the bike just as you are stopping at the destination, dukes of fucking hazard style.

One of the other bikers where i work keeps doing up the zips and velcro on the wrists of my jacket, so whenever i try to put it on i can't get my hands down the sleeves.
Soon after i'd started at my current job, i got into a blazing row with one bloke about Harleys, with me saying how shit they were in no uncertain terms. All the time i was slagging them off, a workmate was pulling strange faces at me and shaking his head. Turned out it was one of the senior managers, and he owned a Harley. Might be why i didn't get a pay rise.
