Take advantage of this petrol price hike with all the old biddies not being able to afford petrol with their pensions and so no Sunday drivers. w00t. The roads are gonna get quieter because nobody wants to spend loads of money on petrol, we must now capitalise on this situation.

Indeed, the amount of petrol our bikes require for a full tank is nothing in comparison to that of a car, so consequently we don't feel the difference as much. It all depends on how itchy your right wrist is feeling!

I've spent a fiver on fuel each week to cover the same distance and have not felt an effect on my wallet.

Yes, we may well be using less petrol thans cars, the buggers might start to panic buying and we're left with none as we have smaller tanks. Jerry cans at the ready!

Watching the A30 the other day on the side of the road, I must of seen 200+ cars go past at snail speed. It was sickening because I only saw maybe 10 cars with more than one person in it.

Maybe now the Government will actually accept motorcycles as an efficient and environmentally friendly mode of transport. Perhaps they'll encourage more people to ride bikes, start punishing old cogers that drive 5 litre Jags at 40mph, ban 4x4's in town centres.

Aye, that'll be right Rolling Eyes

Dont know about no Sunday Drivers.

I needed to fill up this morning on the way to work at 7am and for the 1st time ever there was a queue. Usually is white van man filling up but today it was nearly all cars. If everyone now starts to panic buy the roads could be cluttered with petrol station queues or the weekend motorist driving round and round looking for stations with no queues.

Its 10p extra on petrol, not the end of the world.

We have kids here paying £1000+ to insure their bikes, when you pay that sort of cash for insurance does an extra quid to fill the tank really matter?

Now look at the car world. Its a sunday, you decide to go out for one of our last remaining summer sundays with the family. Its a 50 mile round tip. Will the extra 50p its costing you in fuel used really put you off going?

Fuel costs a little more, but people are going to use just as much of it.

As a little aside, someone griped about single passenger cars. A fairly average single passenger car going along a fairly average A road should be returning about 40mpg. About the same as a sports 600, but with lower emissions.

I was having a think about petrol queues, would you be brazen enough to sail past a 1/4 mile queue, straight to the front, cut someone up, chuck your card in the pump, fill up and fuck off into the sunset? I'd love to do it. Maybe give everyone a thankyou wave on the way back. Anyone else planning on pissing 100+ people in this way?

And after that those 100 drivers will at best not make space for you to filter.

All the best

Man where i stay 'Sunday drivers' where invented!!

Here is the problem, nice sunny Sunday, all the auld farts have been stuck inside all week so they decide to jump into their Subaru Impreza 3.0 turbo and drive at 21.5 mph between all the garden centers looking for a chance to save 5p on a new plant pot for their sweet pees. Doesn't matter if there are 30 irate and dangerous car drivers behind them pulling out without indicating through sheer frustration.

Everyone has the right to be on the road, be it the rich or the poor, most pensioners are well off, more than you and I, dont think for one minute the roads will get quite, in fact Im thinking this may well increase on sat. and sundays as familys do at all in one go instead of spreading it out during the week, I have noticed it already here.
