Glanced out the window this morning, thinking about heading down to madeira drive for the american chopper/ace cafe thingy and I noticed that there isn't a cover on my bike.
Double take moment.
At first I thought I was going mad, looked around the flat for it grumbling about going senile waaay to early, but nope, its not here. The missus hasn't got it in the car boot, and it wasn't windy last night apparently.
I wouldnt mind but its the mankiest cover of the three in that bay.

People eh?!? Rolling Eyes Sad

Maybe they were planning on nicking your bike, but when they took the cover off they thought that was worth more! Twisted Evil Laughing

Well, as it turns out someone was trying to knick the bike as the front lock came apart in my hands when I unlocked it this morning. Some sort of cutter got 95% through the padlock.

Not sure what they were playing at though as the oxford chain on the rear wheel is much much tougher (I would imagine).

Picked up a a new oxford lock down madeira drive at the ace cafe jobbie. Squillions of bikes. Great fun. I'd love to spend the afternoon just cruising up and down the seafront being part of it but sadly got things to do.

On a side note, am I supposed to inform anyone of the fact that someone tried to nick my bike? I'm guessing not ...

Well it might be the afternoon but it still must be a little early for me because I swear when I read the thread title it read:
Some little oik has kicked my bike over
So all I can say is, be glad it was only your cover Wink

Rig your cover up with personal rape alarms..that is what I have done.
A couple of blokes and a van tried to nick my bike a couple of months back, so I tie the cover together underneath the bike with an alarm, have another alarm tied under the front of the cover looped round the front lock (Oxford |Monster to concreted ground anchor)..and an alarm tied under the back of the cover looped around the back wheel lock. These alarms were only £3 each from Maplins. Thumbs Up

Gits aren't they !!? Evil or Very Mad
What kind of lock was it ?
I also added a Thatcham approved Oxford disc lock for good measure.

I tell you what...the little things worked. About 2 weeks later a couple of chavvies tried their luck.....they got their ears blasted and my neighbour battered one of them Laughing Thumbs Up Nice one

Yup, seven dials.

Police dog would be great, thanks. Thumbs Up

There isn't anything close enough to my spot in the bay to anchor it to sadly, so its fingers crossed really.

Turning out to be one of those weeks really, had my mobile lifted on wednesday.
