I quiet like some street fighters you find alot are built from a parts bike. For a long time i wanted to build a mates wrecked zxr 600 into a Nitrous Monster of a street fighter fashion my own underseat exhaust every thing but... Budget wouldnt allow it.

I think its okay as long its not a minter of a bike b4 hand like i said most are built from a salvage bike. Thumbs Up

Some people prefer the look, but a fair amount end up looking like that because they've been crashed and not had the fairings replaced.

People who do that aint all there! Why ruin a plastic when they look shite streetfightered anyway. Why not get a bandit cos they're built to be fightered!

Ask most people who have made a street fighter is cause they cant afford new plastics.

It's usally because they've crashed.

However it could also be because they think they're going to crash. None of the naked bikes have naer the performance of the top sports bikes.

And, I personally get really annoyed with people saying how they've 'treetfightered' a bandit. From my view the act of changing a bike to a street fighter involves getting a sports bike and making it more useful for an urban environment.
Taking a naked bike and adding tarty bits is another matter altogether in my opinion.

they don't look bad as such its just that they never bother to finish them so all the brackets n cables are on show, it just looks so untidy. Has anyone got any good examples of a streetfighter?

Or alternatively, you want an R1 but can't really afford it. Buy one brand new, flog the fairings, bars, lights, exhaust and clocks straight away so they are brand new. Fit streetfighter parts and an aftermarket exhaust.

You now own a brand new bike with the performance and handling of an R1 and have paid a net £3,000 less than they cost new.

Like this one of my mates. The reason he didn't get a bandit is because he didn't want a crappy bandit, he wanted an R1:

Personally, I prefer a bike that looks like it's used for riding, rather than for parking up at the local cafe/bike meet Smile.

You are never going to see it from the front except briefly if he is going in the opposite direction. At most you get a rapidly shrinking view of the back-end. Laughing

The reason it has a big, round headlight is so he can see where he is going in the dark.

stinkwheel Middle Finger

I love streetfightered bikes, they look great, but in my opinion streetfightered naked bikes are the best because the radiators dont look funny and there arn't fairing bolts everywhere!

It's certainly a different look, I'm not keen, but each to their own.

Nah, with all the aerodynamics gone it's not going to be quicker than my 750. Plus he'd had to stop to get his neck massaged every ten miles! Laughing

If it's going to be done it's got to be done properly. Any excess brackets and lugs ground off, all wires hidden ect.

The one a couple of pic up looks a monster.

Well compared to an R1 they are!

There are too many bandits about with shit bolted onto them to make them "streetfightered"

IMHO they just look shit.

Nah, they are a different type of bike.

If I wanted a sports bike I would have got an R6 but I wanted a naked bike so I got a Bandit.

The Bandits with loads of anodised bits look crap but there are some nice ones out there.
