Hey all, just thought I'd let you know that I went to Swanage in Dorset today and back to sussex.

The R6 cruises very happily at 80-90 in restricted state. I spent an hour at a time at these speeds twice today. Only thing I would say is that I'm definitely getting a double bubble screen and wearing earplugs for future motorway riding.

I started to get a numb bum on the way home, which I would expect for a 2 hour ride each way! I need to get more used to leaning her over a bit more, I end up easing off the throttle and going upright, stupid me!

Overall was a good ride, still enjoying the R6!

Can someone describe the advantages of a double bubble screen? I see them all over the place, but have no idea of their purpose. Thumbs Up

Sounds like a nice ride, the cornering problem I recommend practising your countersteering a bit more (I read up on it last night. Mr. Green )

I just need more practice cornering, so I can get more used to the bike. Need to build up my confidence at going faster round corners back to just below what I had on the NSR would be nice (as I was too confident on the NSR)

The double bubble directs air away from your head/ chest as far as I'm aware. Should mean I don't have to duck down as far to hide behind it either.

Pretty much what craig said for the double bubble, it just increases the air pocket behind the screen so when you've got your chin on the tank, the air moves more smoothly over the helmet, and you don't have to lean as far down. There are other screens more suited for touring, but the double bubble is by far the coolest looking Very Happy

Don't worry, R6s just beg for you to lean them over more, if you listen closely at low revs you can actually hear the bike whispering 'lean me'.

Very confidence inspiring bike.

Nice bike, double bubble screens look awesome, please don't get a coloured one, black or clear or nothing please.

ZX-7R's do that too! Laughing but mine seems to slip in the odd "rag me, rag me!" Laughing

Yea, I think the road surface had something in the confidence thing too. White noise, I will come out with you in a couple of weeks, cos my girlfriend is off to uni next week, so I will be free a bit more!!

I was going to get an iridium blue one...

Will I be thrown off the forums if I get it, please don't, im too young!

(Falls on knees in strange begging fashion)

Anywho

I was not going to studland nudist bay, don't worry. My leathers are kinky enough if you don't mind.

If you are quite tall then it will make it worse when sitting up right. I'm 6'4 and on my zx6r the wind was even worse, looked better so i kept it on. Very Happy

I'm about 6'1" or 6'2", at the moment it hits me in the neck, so I'm hoping it will move onto my head, and I can just lean forwards a little bit to make it more bearable at high speeds. I found that when I sat my head behind the screen, it was earily quiet, I could only hear the sound of the engine and the road surface against the tyres. It was really odd!

Fecking brilliant! I've been worrying my arse off wondering if the ZX6R will have me in a wheelchair at 6'3", at least I know I'll have some company if it does. Razz
