Nothing worse then someone answering the question and making you look silly. Laughing

Technically that is what Keith's here for, he does it with such...panache.

Hi

The use of those signs annoys me a bit. They are for important messages, not just for patronising slogans. All that happens is that people will ignore them always, whether they are spouting rubbish or on one of the few occasions when they are useful.

All the best

Keith

Couldn't agree more there. They're always full of useless crap. If there's a queue ahead, fair enough it warns people so they can get off if they like, but if there's nothing going on it says crap like 'Tiredness kills - take a break' What the hell is that?! People know that, but choose to carry on regardless. I refuse to believe that people don't know driving whilst tired is dangerous. They just run the risk. If they were left blank except for proper reasons, people might pay a bit more attention.

Bah! Wink

Pity the signs dont say " Watch out for bikers in your blind spot " I guess that would be saving lives so it would be politically incorrect

Why do they bother writing these messages

" Don't Drink And Drive "
" Think! Take a Break "

Im pretty sure if your drunk, Asleep, or just generally racing your bike at 180mph then your not gona really take note of these signs....

I agree that every driver (bar the odd rare genualy useless ones) know how to drive a car properly, and know what is safe and whats not...they just choose to drive anyway...

i also agree that accidents to deaths ratio for bikesis very close, when a bicker has a serious accident they quite often die or are seriousley inured, BUT bikes to cars accident ratio will be VERY different, ive been saying for years bikes are less likley to have an accident then a cager...unfortunatley when the bicker does have the bad day he will be worseoff from it...common scnece realy. bickers are generaly better and more aware road users, we just tend to go faster, and this has got us a bad rep...wel also die more from less accidents, thus put 2 and 2 together, we die more cos we speed more...so its OUR fault that car pulled out or was doing 30 in a 60 and you went right up his bum, or that pillock didnt have any lights on, or cut you up...

imanaged to catch back up with a police car this morning, we were both in a 60 but he was doiung 50 wich is quite reasonable for the twisty road in a car...iwas doing 60 on the bike and i wason his ass the whole way even tho hed managed to gain a mile on me when i 1st pulled out...i was expecting a stop to get asked how id managed to get back up with them! ive also been near sparkigfrom the pegs on the way back down there and noticed the car goin the other way was a copper :/
