woke up this morning, not feeling too bad after a heavy night on the sauce. got my hair cut and figured i would go on the killspills ride out, gave joe a phone and had to be at the M4 at 10:00 from brighton, this was at 8:45, Thinking
ahh feck it i can make it! went down to the speed trials to have a quick look at a busa racing for bikes of brighton then off to the M4 to meet joe et al, 2/3's the way there i found that my knowledge of distance and my bikes fuel consumption was severely lacking! Rolling Eyes Laughing
hence me running my primary tank dry and having to coast to the hard shoulder from the fast lane, no a very nice experience i can tell you! then my bike was playing silly buggers and took ages for the engine to bite into the reserve tank, making me even more late and having to make a detour into the back of beyond to find a petrol station! Rolling Eyes (why the hell are there no services in the south west section of the M25?)
finally met up with joe, rascals custard and dom and the rest had buggered off due to my lateness Embarassed
so under rascals custard's lead we briskly got to ace cafe where we hung around a bit, chating, eating that perving over the bennetts girls (ok that was mainly joe Laughing )
Then time for the ride to westminster, we all got hearded up and led there by the marshalls. All i can say is what a ride, it was a great feeling as marshalls and police held up all the traffic to let us through! it was so funny seeing pissed of car drivers stuck watching 2000 bikes go past Laughing it was a great sight! people the side of the roads where waving, bikes reving to red line and blasting there horns, think we gave buckingham palace a bit of a shock! it was great blasting down pall mall and the centre of london! and not having to worry about red lights and pedestrians!
We got to westminster and right on cue it started to pi$$ down and we got shelter under a tree, while the organisers handed in there petition! Thumbs Up hope it makes a difference! Cool
the rain stopped and we all rode back to ace cafe under escort in much the same fashion! I couldn't believe how smoothly and well organised the day was! big Thumbs Up to the organisers and the police for there help!
well done the killspills team and BMF Thumbs Up
i ended up leaving and riding back to brighton via boxhill (see other thread), pretty uneventful ride down till i got just outside hove where came across a monster rider and pillon who had a puncture, gave the pillon a ride back to his place as the rider was getting picked up on a bike, felt wierd as never taken a pillon at speed before, worrying how easily the front gets light Twisted Evil , that was my good deed of the day Karma
feeling good with the bike, i figured lets try if i can actually learn how to do stoppies as it should be easy with the front brakes i've got on the ZX and hot tyres, found a nice quiet straight road near me, and gave it a go Rolling Eyes well it turns out that i can stoppie and i feel pretty comfortible doing it, but i think the next time i practice it i want to take someone with a video camera as the last one i did felt fecking high and the rear took an age to fall! Confused so i didn't want to push it too much, but glad that i feel comfortible doing them!
so all in all a busy but great day on the bike, now wheres my stella! Laughing

I still haven't got over Tesco depriving me of my Stella in London.

It shall haunt me for the rest of my days.

Some cool bikes in that picture you took under the bridge WN, especially the silver and black Fazer Laughing

Good to meet up with some of you guys and the ride into town was fantastic. Felt like a VIP coming through Trafalgar Square with crowds many deep lining the road Cool

Took the "scenic" route back to the Ace via Knightsbridge and Chelsea; not sure if the lead man was misdirected or just got lost.

Nice going, I was going to attend the rally but its has been torrential here for I would say 99% of the day so I stayed at home and did some more studying, guess it would be wise....as for yor stoppies.... well Im not a fan of them at all, does nothing to improve rider skills and gives bikers the wrong impression when cagers see it, cos they know shit all, watch those steering and rear susp. bearing and check for cracked rims......
