i think it comes with lots of different close calls in lots of different conditions,,,
riding the bike at night, in the rain, fog, snow(if your as daft as me)
commuting, filtering ,
sometimes you can clock up loads of miles and not learn a bloody thing then all of a sudden you go round a right hander hugging the lines and get your head taken off by something comming the other way..
(quote a story a copper friend of mine told me and the pics he showed , a guy went touring round europe for 3 months on his bike, came back to blighty and went under a low bridge,, anded up welded into the radiator grill of a cement mixer coming the other way.) just shows no ammount of experience can prepare you for some things,
You cant beat a bike safe course for showing up your mistakes,,,
mine were corners, i knew i could do them and my bike could it was just something i knew i was doing wrong, just didnt know how to sort it out,, now i am more confident and more aware of things and that in my eyes makes me more experienced.
im not a brilliant rider and theres a hell of a lot of things i still dont know. im safe 90% of the time and in control of things. also with loads of off road experience i tend to think more than 2 corners ahead of me. ____________________ There is no point in ranting about someone stupid because there is nothing u can do about it. Someone stupid does not realise they r stupid.stupidity is indistinguishable from malice U just have to accept that some people are thick as p1gsh1t and work around them. |

I have done about 20k in just over 2 years of riding, both evening blasts and commuting. My dad would do a few hundred miles a year on the bike but he drives the car all the time. Although I may be able to throw it about a bit more, he would be the one who's less likely to end up on his hoop through not making rash juvenile mistakes like I would still make. Who knows. ____________________ Northern Irish? www.nibikers.com |

*2* I would say I was a pretty experienced road user. Experience simply means I did it, but it doesn't mean I'm any good at it. |
"Sound more like a windup to me" but if its true then here goes.
*1*Thanks for jacking up the insurance premiums and possibly causing injury to other road users, its just the sort of rider/driver we dont need on the roads, its also one of the main deciding factors that introduces stricter laws on bikes and bikers
*2* How about giving up using the raods all together and leaving it for the good bikers out there to enjoy, this way we dont have to sit for hours in traffic jams while they one day scrap up your remains with a shovel, I've seen it, it is gruesome...throw in your license, boxers do it, so can you...thats sad man, real sad.
But back on track age does play a big role and thats why insurance is cheaper as you get older, why else... |
