I hate it when people ride with no lights and in total black.
I also agree with you, People who don't ride in straight lines are very very stupid.

What makes me laugh is when people ride on a busy ride with shitty lorries ect driving passed them, and next to them is a nice path to ride along, Apparently its illegal to ride a bike which a certain size wheel on it, But fuck that, I'd rather get a fine then get run over by a lorrie Rolling Eyes

If there are people on the pavement, they should use the road but keep to the side, let other traffic pass. If there are no people on the pavment they should use the pavement.

This is what I do when I cycle, but it's not the law, but I don't think you are going to get much trouble for using an empty pavement. Also I try to find the quickest route through the back streets and alleys, much more fun!

Ohh, this could end up being another horses thread.

Similar sentiments. Cyclists are too slow to be on the road, except perhaps in urban area. I don't go into them much, couldn't comment. Out in the quick twisty lanes where you're lucky to be able to see 50m in front of you they are a liability.
To overtake you need to really go for, at least partly blind. If you're having a spirited ride or drive around the twisties you rely on having good brakes or a clear lane to overtake.

So similar to the horses, they are too slow to be on modern roads. Traffic is quick nowadays. At least the cyclists are generally visible and don't get spooked.

Because the cycle paths are little used so tend to be covered in all the debris from the road. Also means that they are forced to give way at junctions to vehicles joining the road.

Wouldn't really be a problem if someone hadn't decided to make the road narrower to provide space for cycle lanes Rolling Eyes .

Similar thinking is why they sometimes go 2 abreast. Idea is to force people to overtake them properly rather than trying to squeeze past when something is coming the other way. Not really a problem except with the odd brain dead cyclist who does this on a narrow road to prevent anyone from getting past with a reasonable gap.

All the best

The main problem that i have found with cyclists is that most of them haven't even read the highway code.

I know a bloke who doesn't stop a red lights and when someone steps in front of him on a crossing he starts shouting at them.

I asked him why he doesn't stop he just said "there is nothing in the highway code that say's i have to stop" i replied with "well if thats true why would the councils paint great big bloody green boxes at the traffic lights for you to stop safely in?"

He was a little stumped at that one.

As an ex Amature Pro cyclist i'm supopsed to say how dare you hate cyclist's but i wont, when i used to commute i could beet anything to work, appart from motorbikes, i rode at the general speed of trafic where ever possible and also moved over if i felt someone couldnt get passed ,, never blocked anyone unless they were hounding me and also only took off a few wing mirrors from people who purposly cut me up,,,
I dont hate cyslists, i just think about 90% of em should stop acting like wankers and ride properly,,, just cos you dont have an engine it doenst give you the right to be a hopeless blind no lifesaver knob,,,

If more people on bikes wernt just rich gits who take there bikes on the train or tree hugging faggots with mudguards from the dark ages and packamacs,, and actually good riders there would be less grief being given
"edit,, and teen ages who think they can bump on and off the pavement without looking cos they have a "down hill mountain bike" that would only go down a slight incline without falling to bits"

Anyway you could say that peds are just as annoying when theres a row of chavs on em blocking the traffic riding like they mayaswell be on push bikes,,,

Nothing wrong with bikes, in the right hands. People who can't ride well shouldn't be on roads which are used heavily by traffic, and people who can't use their common sense if not the highway code shouldn't be on full stop. That woman was a fucking idiot, I'd have gone past her, don't care how close, and given her a good slap on my way past.

Why is it when i'm averaging around 35 on a 30 road (on my bicycle)that cars still have to pull out and overtake me?

Because they want to go faster than you, and do not want to be stuck behind you moving lathargically off the next set of lights?

All the best
