I'm not sure but I think I read about that on the MCN website if it's the new triumph. They did a test and it out-dragged a Hyabusa 0-60mph, or it might have been 0-30mph. Serious torque.
Not my cup of tea either but I'd always love to have a go on a bike like that just for the experience.

Not a real fan of it although they are really popular in the states at the moment triumph knows the market there after. I'd prefer a hayabusa.

I'd rather have an original rocket 3. Go round corners better, sound nicer.

(but I would immediately fit lockheed disc brakes and peashooter exhausts to this bike)

You should have seen the german-tuned one in MCN! BLOODY HELL! that thing had the torque limiter removed, a BIG power hike and it went on a diet thanks to carbon bodywork all round. That thing could probably dislocate your shoulders.

Less so that the one liter sports bikes that weigh a lot less I believe.

It beat a busa to 30 I think, but stick a load of weights on the front wheel and extend the wheel base of the busa and I reckon it'd be back up there for the start as well.

The rocket has more torque - the busa has more power. Power is basically the rate at which the torque
is supplied, so because the busa revs higher it can nail the rocket. If a rocket had the torque limiter removed, i reckon it would be hard to keep the front down. Even though it's a cruiser style bike, i reckon it could power wheelie.

There is a very nice one of them that comes to the Monday night bike meet in Chippenham. Nice custom paint job and more chrome than you can wave a polishing cloth at, it looks the ducks nuts. Cool
However, I don't think there's much chance of seeing me on one for at least another 10 - 12 years or so Confused

I think it is a stunning bike and I applaud Triumph for being so bold for a company of it's size and producing the rocket III to take on the might of Harley Davison. I sat on one in a show room and it's fucking huge way out sizing anything in it's class. I wouldnt buy one but I'm glad the thing exists Thumbs Up I think the power figures are something like 145 BHP and 147 Lb of torque Shocked more torque than bloody power Thumbs Up

Generally don't like cruisers, but really like the rocket 3 (mby because it actually performs well , at least in a straight line) and would like to tour on it.

They do a turbo conversion kit for it, producing 203hp and 215lb/ft of torque.

https://thekneeslider.com/archives/2005/07/18/triumph-rocket-3-turbo/

It would be 'interesting'...

We have had the discussion before, borne from someone posting a video in which which a Rocket 3 chews up and spits out a gsx-r thou in a short drag race. The gsx-r was seriously catching towards the end but it couldn't live with the Rocket off the line.

I'd love a rocket 3!

Granted you couldnt go doing track days on one, but in real on the road conditions where you spend most of your time overtaking and don't get much lean, it would be like a pan euro but with more beef to it Twisted Evil

But its a fuck load more comfortable than a sports bike too.
Beefy muscle bikes are cool, and the coolest of them all is british Very Happy Thumbs Up

Really shouldn't get dragged into this debate everytime Smile

I do lean on the road, no where near as much on the track, but more than a rocket can, I'd bet - pan euro has pretty decent ground clearance however.

Personally I find my TRX pretty comfortable (Admittedly it's a twin, so not out and out sports bike Smile ), but I didn't find the Honda cruiser I rode very comfortable - especially when the speed went over 50mph.

I'd say cruisers aren't cool, but the coolest cruiser is british Smile.

I was under the impression that the Triumph Rocket3 had the same riding position as the Bonneville.

From that picture it looks more like a twin, I had to google it to believe that it was a triple Razz
The Triumph Rocket 3 makes 140 BHP @ 5750rpm and 147ft-lb at only 2500 rpm - no wonder it kicks ass to 30mph. IIRC the quoted time from Triumph was 1.2 seconds to 30.
