Hi guys,

Just got myself an R6 and so far it has been a lot of fun!

It has a race can which has been positioned higher up compared to the standard can wand it looks/sounds great but blocks off the right hand rear foot peg from being put on.

Is there any other alternative to taking off the end can as I need to carry pillions but dont want to put the old exhaust on?

Thanks for any help!

How does it block it???, actually mask the bolt holes?, or do you just need some spacers??

It doesn't block the holes, but sits right where the peg would be so you can't fit it.

Ben.

Who's the manufacturer of the pipe. quite a lot do a high mount for the R6, I had one originally on mine. ususally they supply a fitting kit which moves the rear peg out so it can be used. Well after a fashion anyway.

I took mine off because I take my son out quite often as pillion and it was getting rather hot around his leg plus I melted the rear of my boots even with a shield on the pipe.

High mounts even with the peg kits are not a good idea if you want to take pillions.

Its a micron high level can and looks the nads, and I just called a micron stockist who advised me there is no kit to get around the problem which seems faintly stupid to me as I want to keep the lovely sound it makes!

Just gonna have to change back to standard for now :/

That really surprises me. Micron would have been my first guess at those manufacturers who do have the kit.

I know you have spoken with the stockist but it may be an idea to fire an e-mail directly to Micron giving them your bike details and see what they say.

If they really dont do the kit i'm sure the can will sell on ebay

I havent got any pics yet, but will take some.

So far all i can say about the r6 is that it is nimble in the way that my nc35 is, which is saying something for a bigger bike. I expected it to be sloppy and heavy in comparison but the difference is small.

Then you have the straight line performance which is pretty awesome (bearing in mind the fastest bike I have ridden before is my NC35)!
