Nah,, i have always loved bikes,,, I could ride a push bike on two wheels before i could literally walk,, raced bmx at 7 -12 took up cycling seriously at 18,,,, almost turned pro at 21

been riding motorbikes since i was about 9,, but not fully till i was 11 (very tal kid so spent most of my first riding on an AR80 and RD125, off road lol
Taught off road riding and trials since i was 18 and bike mechanics all the way up to last year 30 years old
never could afford a licence or bike due to other commitments like marrage and before that cycling but after i got divorced at 27 i went and did a das,,, never looked back,, cant get off the bike,, im passionate about them but not well up to date on them like some people who could quote the history of 2 pokes.
i just simply love riding bikes,,,
thats about it,,

Not one single thing, a mixture of the following: Barry Sheene, Streethawk, the black JPS Nortons, the TDR125 i desperately wanted when i was 17, the RGV250 a lad at college had, the first fireblade, the 916, Luca Calladora, my brothers RD350 YPVS - the noise it made when the ignition was turned on, the noise it made from the micron pipes, the fact that it ate engines and spat him off at a regular basis, the dawn of Rossi, Walker v Hodgson, Garry McCoy, Haga, my loonie mates succesion of gixers and TL's which he either crashed or blew up, my CBT, buying a 125 scooter, going to court because the 125 was a pile of shite, winning the court case, taking all the money + interest + charging the scooter company for storing their pile of shite in my garage, doing my full test, buying my lovely Gixer in 2001.
Since then i've never looked back, and could never see myself being without a bike.

My brother has always been into biking and my old man was when he was younger.

When I was 16 I got a 50cc Scooter, always planning to get a car when I was 17 though but after 6 months that all changed, I didn't want a car anymore.

Biking is so fun I decided to go for another bike and now I am riding a Suzuki Bandit 600cc

I have had a few driving lessons but I don't like driving, I don't feel as in control as I do on my bike.

Dunno my uncle had this big old yamaha when i was like 5 and from then on i wanted a bike a had a little scrambler at 8 and from then on it was like i wanted more power !

Did not have a bike or feeling strongly about having one until I worked in a bike dealer company about 3 years ago. The company issued our bike for us to make it convenient going to work and doing your job. We also had gas allowance...who can beat that?

Since then, you might say I got hooked...I have 2 bikes next to my name now.

bike gets ~65mpg. Shat car gets ~35mpg. bike 0-60 in under 4 seconds. Shat car ~10 seconds. bike tops out ~130mph. Shat car ~120mph.

bike costs under £200 to insure fully comp. Shat car costs £400 TPFT! It's a 1.5 slow piece of junk for fox sake.

bike doesn't get stuck in traffic and with a flick of the wrist can get past most 4 wheeled tin cans.

bike better in the wet as don't have to stop and wait in order to go around puddles.

bike way better on narrow country lanes when meeting other vehicles. don't have to stop and drive half way up the verge like you do in a stupid tin box.

a single person riding a bike doesn't use as much fuel, take up as much space or look like a complete nonce like a single person driving around in a damn great tin can

bikes tend to indicate unlike drivers. especially BMW ones.

bikes tend to pull out and disappear into the distance, not cause you to have to do an emergency stop like cars do.

bikes don't cut you up like cars do. even if they do they tend to be gone in the blink of an eye.

bikes don't have huge whale tale spoliers, stupid fart can exhausts, foglights on during daylight (WHY?), stupid stereo's blasting out chav music, 21' spinners on rubber band tyres.

You don't see bikes riding around and around and around mcdonalds all the time (don't confuse bikes with scooters)

Watched a TV program that woke me up to the fact that it was something I'd wanted to do for years - so why hadn't I? The only thing that had stopped me was me. No excuses. My Dad had 1 or 2 bikes when he was a kid but until now none of his children ever got into them.
He's got Cancer and not that long to live. I think he'll still be with us for one more Christmas. For some stupid reason I've got this dream in my head of passing my test and driving all the way home (Plymouth to Manchester) on Christmas Eve, as I always do, but this time on a bike. I've not told him I've got my 125cc or my DAS in 3 weeks, even though I've been itching to. I just want to see the suprise on his face on Christmas Eve when I pull up on the drive
Stupid thing is, it's become so important to me now, to do this. I've become a little fixated about it and it's spoiling it. It's not as if it's going to save him or anything. It's just something I want to give him before he goes. I'd hate it for him to have gone and not known. There's going to be lots of that though anyway.
Mind you, knowing him I'll turn up and he'll say:
"What did you get one of those for? They're death traps!"
