After a 100/125 Scooter, but which are the best to look out for? Want a faster than average scooter, but not above average price! Will be buying a used one

Thumbs Up

Speedfights are only 50cc or 100cc. If you can get a 125cc no point getting a 50cc...

Should be easy, I would try and get one off a 'mature' owner if I was you though. (No sports exhausts or anything)

That's your choice, as far as you like!

Comfortably, as you're using A roads only, I reckon 150 miles is going to be pushing it.

Well ya gotta stay off the motorway but you can take them pretty much any where with in reason, me and mate made a camping trip into a 112 mile haul into wales then we had to do the whole lot back again. So at the end of the day its if your willing to stick to the a&b roads and take the arse about tit way there. also the seats can hurt your ass after a while and they offer very little excitement unless you prat about.

There fun but i'd stick to town use Thumbs Up

So how fast does a Runner go, and how fast does a Speedfight go?

I prefer the looks of the Speedfight, but is it a no no?

YP125 Majesty's are quite cool I think. Don't know if they're as fast as a Runner 125 though. They're four stroke whereas the Runner is a smoker so the Runner is bound to be faster, but the Majesty is more comfier.

Ive got a Runner SP125 and with just an aftermarket exhaust on it will top out between 70 and 75mph and reaches those speeds very quick. I believe a Speedfight 100 will hit 60mph max.

Don't get a Speedfight 100.

A standard Gilera Runner 125 2 Stroke will do between 65-70mph on the flat (indicated). Probably around a true 60-65.

A nicely tuned one can do a lot more than that but do you really want to sacrafice reliabilty and petrol economy for an extra 10mph?

Out of interest, why a scooter over a bike?

All the things you're asking about a bike would generally do better.

Pug Jetforce 125 Compressor is meant to be very good - has a supercharger! Very Happy Would certainly be interesting to see one.

I'm personally counting off the days until I can ditch the 'ped.

That caught my eye, so I checked it out. Unfortunately its a 4 stroke 125cc, so supercharge probably only up to the 2-stroke 125 output I recon. I may be wrong though ( i imagine 4 stroke scooters are quite gutless)
