Just thinking about it after these sales women came upto us at squires giving us the sales speil about spending nights in hospital and breaking bones you get money for this.

Whats the catch? (apart from the £20 a month they want)

Does it actuially pay out if you did get hurt?

Is it a waste of money?

(I tend to believe the latter)

Its pretty expensive though works out at 260 a year n when you have other insurance to pay, bills *etc* its quite expensive , them sayin a fiver a week is all it costs it adds up at the end of year.

i didnt take it then but i wish i did now! they said it wont affect your no claims since its taken with another company

Dan

EDIT: i meant my bike insurance not life...dont have tht!

You are much better off taking out private healthcare with a hospital direct.
What she was selling was an insurance policy. We all know how great insurance is when you try and claim eh!

I imagine if you did require hospital treatment you would have to fork out for it up front and them claim the money back.
TBH, you pay NHS contributions so I would just use them.

That seems very expenisve.

For about £360 a year I get Norwich Union healthcare, ie all treatment in private hospitals, but if I do decide to use NHS I get £50 per night.

Also the cover, covers me for when im abroad.

Just make sure you read the fine print on some of the life/injury insurance policies.

I was a couple a while back the all seemed fine and good untill i read the fine print and saw that the policy wouldn't cover me if i was involved in a bike accident, when i quired this i was told that they could cover me for pillion but not rider.

Which is no use at all

personally i will go with the NHS rather than IMO waste money on what if's health insurance, however i would be more inclined to get loss of earning insurance, so that my bills would be covered in the event of a accident, i had a woman offer to quote me this great policy, however it had a 30 x/s period plus did not cover accidents related to my occupation or hobbies, so i asked if she really really thought it was right for me yes but......but nothing i told her if i am not covered doing tree surgery riding my bike or rock climbing its not worth a great deal to me as lets face it if i am unfortunate to come a cropper the odds of it happening whilst doing one of these things is fairly high in comparision to other daily activities i do!

if you are thinking about these types of insurance be careful what exclusions apply as it could be deader than dead money, after all if you never claim thats what it is.
