well not that that makes up for it, but at least it was late at night, but putting your lifei n danger is one thing with the silly speeds, but silly overtakes etc possibly making other drivers to swerve and putting there lifes in danger is another thing all together,
but like delvard said, if you think it was stupid which you obviusly do why ask us? ____________________ Proud owner of a Gilera Cougar 125

Yeah I have mad moments, sometimes I need a good scary blast, it gets some adrenaline going.
Nothing wrong with it IMO, as long as you aren’t like it everyday, to much dodging is playing with the odds.
Saying you don’t blast the bike a few times is like saying you don’t speed, everyone has their moments but some not as harsh as others. ____________________ Cleverly disguised as a responsible adult.

That's the fun of the bike for ya. Been driving my car for a week and then went on my bike for the first time again on Wednesday and I just couldn't help going fast all the way, the bike felt so fast.

Nice one for having the bollocks to post about it mate, i posted about a crash in the midlands section and got flamed 'cos the rider was going fast, on an empty country road, with no hazards.
My bike runs a hell of a lot quicker and cleaner at night when it's cold, and it sort of eggs me on to ride it faster, something that can't be helped. |

I dont care what any one says they all have a moment of stupidity of speeding, overtaking etc. I do it we all do it and we cant deny it.
I just like doing it I dont care bout what other people say i enjoy the feel of speed and the adreniline Yes im going to a track day but why i got 1000's miles of high ways lol which you will rarley see a cop so why not the odd blast at speed at night it is fun to see how far you can push it i know my limits i aint gonna go further. Flame me if ya want i enjoy it. Most bikers do. There is more to bikes than speed but hey its one of the better things
Im never unsafe the roads always clear i look around and never go over 100 although im playing it safe with my gixxer atm. ____________________ ◙◙► K6 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 1000 ◄◙◙◙◙► K5 GSXR 600 ◄◙◙◙◙► 96 RF600r ◄◙◙

I wasnt weaving really dangerously, just one lane to the other overtaking, I checked over my should each time I changed lane to. I want a 600 but if im an idiot on my small bike then imagine what I am gona be like on that, not that I am an idiot, just on occasions, but it only takes one crash and your dead |

If you are worried about the way you are riding, well that's a start .
The main issue I would say is to make sure you know the risks not only to yourself, but to others.
I try to make sure that if I'm doing something stupid it's me that's going to get hurt, not someone else.
While general bike experience is useful, unfortunately experience riding like a twat is probably the best way to be able to do it safer.
Going out and filtering at 125mph when you've only once done that before on an empty road is a bit stupid.
However I wouldn't be surprised if an experienced rider doing this was safer than some people I see on the motorway that stick rigidly to speed limits.
I at least built up my riding speed and stupidity. I let my limits slowly get pushed back, going a few mph faster or between slightly closer cars never seemed that much worse.
The only thing I would seriously worry about is causing a multiple car pile up on a motorway or similar, though this would be most likely caused by someone else's bad driving compounded by me crashing etc, it's still not a nice thought. However one I find a bit too easy to put from my brain.
Personally, I don't really have people that would be in a worse position if I wasn't there, so my outlook may be slightly different to those that do.
I was thinking about posting something along this view last night.
I err a hypothetical person I know, officer, was seen riding a bit stupidly last night.
Practiced wheelies in the business park on the way back from the gym. Manage to not overtake the cop car at 70 in a 40 (dual carriageway no pedestrians).
Looking back at the lights to see if the cops had managed to get around I miss the green light to see a boy racer in the right hand lane roar off. Can't be having that, so a bit of clutch abuse gets the bike going without too loud screeching from the clutch plates.
Notice the car is behind on the slip road, obviously wasn't turning right, well definitely can't be having that, so the throttle gets turned again. 50% over the speed limit before getting to the motorway and that's increased a bit once weaving through traffic as conditions allow.
Stop to get some milk in a supermarket and a bit of wheelie practice in the car park.
Go down the road fairly sensibly, overtaking a few cars and note there's a few boy racers, well /they/ won't mind a little wheelie past them on the wide central striped line bit.
Of course this was all just about a hypothetical person, were it about me I wouldn't be proud. The problem is this sort of behaviour is a bit to normal for this hypothetical person.
Definitely not the sort of thing that I feel I should be doing but I enjoy too much none the less.
I have known many others that definitely ride more aggressively and faster than I do, on a more regular basis.
My main issue is probably with losing my licence, I'd really rather not do so. A few instances landing a wheely as a police car comes around the corner should be a wake up call.
Unfortunately there's no real cure for wanting to go stupidly fast between traffic.
Trying to do stunts can easily be contained to safer areas without too much difficulty.
For out and out fast riding, ignoring traffic, I would definitely recommend a trackday. I got busted doing 119 while undertaking (dangerous driving they said - they did chase me for over 10 miles with out me realising) after doing my first trackday, I thought "well, I'm gonna get banned, but hell, I'm not missing much because the road doesn't come near the track"
On the basis of giving other riders a bad reputation, maybe. But I've also cheered up loads of people with wheelies and made them think 'bikes are cool', I'm willing to bet.
If you really get worried you're >>speeding everywhere, doing stupid overtaking moves, weaving threw traffic, TRYING to pull wheelies everywhere,<<, have a look at the last video bendy posted . |

Totally up to you if you ride like that, sometimes the bike does evil things to you!!
My last few rides have been boring and its probably down to my mood but I really didn't enjoy myself.
Today tho was totally different. Took the bike to work at 7am and I'm only just in the door 30 mins ago. Everything felt right. I popped a killer wheelie going to work thro a busy Glasgow rush hour (was clear of traffic) and even managed to sneak it into 2nd gear. Was magic. Set me up for the whole day.
Been along my fav roads near my place, hooooning it. Seen 160mph tonight which is the fastest I've done on the new bike, scrapping pegs at every corner, doing some shit hot overtaking, getting the front wheel off the deck at every crest on a hill. Loved it. Made me realise again why I still have the bike. Nice winde-down from a hard week of work and into the weekend. ____________________ Old bikes >>> https://www.bikepics.com/members/cc123/ |

The CBR600RR saw me turn very naughty, safe but fast stuff.
167mph on the clock a fair few times heading towards snetterton for a trackday. 140mph was my cruising speed as it felt so relaxed after hitting the flat out speed.
Motorways diving between 2 cars is great fun too and the undertake/overtake combo was a favorite.
When the mate was on the back it got worse, managing 2 up knee down, and wheelying everywhere with my first pillion. ____________________ 05 ZX10R, (**05 WKR) |
