I have gotten a good quote on a KTM Duke 2, and am interested in buying one. I am a 33bhp'er, and this may cause a hassle as I cannot find any restriction kit for a duke on the FI international website.

Now I dunno if anyone can spread some light on this for me? As obviously I need the restriction cert to send to an insurer is t bike is bought.

It may be needed for the bike which produces the donor engine for the Duke I spose. So if anyone could help me out with people who sell restriction kits, or what type(make) engine the 640 Duke2 is like it would help a lot.

Go to Dyno shop tell them you need a 33bhp chart, give them lots of money and they'll sort you out with a restriction and proof.

Then take the restrictor out and go play Mr. Green

Just remember, wheelies ARE big and they ARE clever Wink but they're just as hard/dangerous as on a sports bike, buying a supermoto won't make you a wheely god Wink

Buy the bike, then tell yourself you'll sort them out for a period of say, 3 months. Then forget about it.

Easy and affordable. Shifty

Telling your insurance company that the bike is restricted will make no different to your premium so dont bother telling them.

I am riding a restricted bandit 600 but I haven't told the insurers, I asked if it was make a difference and they said no (but in the event of a crash there is the hassle of sending the certificate off to them etc.)

Well, I have just been in an incident on the cbr6RR, I wasnt at fault. But one of the things they did was to come and have a look at insurance docs etc, and also restriction certificate. I would have immediately lost the case if it hadnt been bought previously so I really would need something for peice of mind.

The reason I want the smoto Sparks! is because I wanna do the wheelies I enjoyed trying on the superbike, as well as not having the power to hit indicated speeds of near 170mph every evening.

If you're stopped by the police and given a producer, they will nail you to the floor for not having a restriction certificate. If you don't want to run that risk, have them installed, take them out, and keep the certificate. The odds of being caught are hugely reduced, unless you're going above a certain speed, so they know you haven't got restrictors. Insurance companies (or most of them) ignore the restrictor, so it's not to do with them whether you put it in or not. But if you have an accident and have no certificate of restriction, they will charge you a buttload.

I see where you are coming from, but a certificate aint required by law. FI would like you to think otherwise though. Your bike must be <25kw. Law doesnt say paperwork is required. I have the washers but the paperwork is registered to my old ZXR400.
