Hey Guys, i am new to this forum so just firstly want to say Heylo!

Secondly now i've passed my test i am after a bigger bike.. I was just wondering what type of things (apart from have you stolen it or smashed it up) should i ask about when going to view and questioning the owner about there bike? As obviously i dont want to jump in and buy a crapper. So if there is any advice you could give me on what to ask.. That would be great..

Cheers
Sam

Agreed with Tom. I would never go to view a bike by myself or with someone who knows fuck all about bikes. I always take my Dad because he knows what to look for. But as I get older I'll start learning more about what to look out for so I won't really need to take anyone.

Try and dupe them into bragging about how well it wheelies etc... just ask em how good it is for stoppies and wheelies, some people will just not be able to contain their excitement. At which point, take ur cash and walk.

A simple way to chech for frame straightmess is to put a piece of string next to the bike, pulled taught, and touching the outermost point on the tyre at the side. Make sure the string touches the front and back sidewall of each tyre. If you can't get it in a straight line, the bike may be a bit bent. If the rear tyre is a larger diameter, use a loop of string and check both sides at the same time.
