There have been loads of posts about tyres, but none on scooter tyres. My back tyre is utter pants in the wet, so i basically cannot lean. What tyres do you guys use, and more importantly, are they any good in the wet?

Thanks in advance
Jack

Hi guys, thanks for all your advice - it is much appreciated!

Just been and checked my tyre pressure. The rear was a bit low, found a nail in there and a little chunk of tyre missing, looks like i'll be getting a replacement sometime this weekend Very Happy

I seem to remember I had Michelin Boppers on my very first PWT.

It was an MBK Stunt 50, and I got some very respectable lean angles on that thing in the dry and in the wet.

And from what I can remember they gripped in both very well too, lasted well to, though I only did 6,000 miles on that Scoot before I sold it after 6 months.

Pilot sports are the ones to go for, not cheap, but very grippy.
Avoid Pirellis as they are rock hard and have no grip, boppers are cheap and crappy when compared to the pilot sports. Pilot city tyres are pretty good winter tyres. Another cheap and grippy tyre is the BF Goodrich Funline tyres. They are cheap, but almost as good as pilot sports in my opinion.

Thanks guys!, think i'll go for the pilots, not a bad word against them so far! My rear tyre i currently have is branded as something which sounds like "john deere" and that is definitely not a good thing.

Thanks again

i sincerely hope not, guess i'll have to paint it an awful shade of green. Would make it decent off-road anyhow...

I'll see which have the better longevity between them and the pilot sport.

Then go for the one with the shortest life Razz
