I went out for a blast today as it was nice weather and you have to make the most of it before it really starts to get cold, rainy, icy ETC.

Well i noticed that i am not getting the same feeling i used to by riding at that speed, i hit 130 mph on the straight followed by a KD roundabout then through a set of twisties which i took as fast as i usaully do when my tyres are warm etc, which is a good speed.

Then i pulled over and realised that i was completly relaxed and that i didnt really feel that fast.
So the speed in my riding is getting faster and faster as i get more imune to speed.

Does anyone else go through this?and when you get a faster bike such as a litre then where do you go to get the same rush?

CBR600F BTW

I thought I was doing 80 and when I looked at the clock I was doing 35 on my speedfight.

I've hit 160mph on the road and it still didn't feel that fast. The track is where it's at if you want adrenaline. You definitely become desensitised to speed.

It's always the case, like if you've been on a motorway for a couple of hours in a car, and then get to a 30 zone, it feels like you're crawling, and are more prone to speeding. It's just speed desensitisation.

as some of the others have said

if you've not done a track day then get the cbr on the track

you can push you and the bike as hard and fast as you want in a safe and legal enviroment.

i have the same bike as you and yep a blast down the A3 or A272 60/70 mph does feel slow and it scares me sometimes when i realise what speed i am actually doing and the fact it doesn't feel 'that' fast anymore Shocked

i'm still on my 2 yrs probation for a new license and i really don't want to lose it and probably could have done many many times.

i was getting bored of my cbr ........ then i took it on a track day Twisted Evil

Buy a naked bike.

Preferably one that doesn't handle very well and has shite brakes.

I have been flat out a few times on my ninja, is very weird. Thought i would get some kind of tunnel vision at that speed but nothing. Neutral

The first time i admit feels abit scary but after that its cool. Cool

After a 600 a litre bike never really gave me much of a rush.
Rode a busa on a drag/top speed run at Elvington and wasn't that impressed really.

I don't really get that much adrenaline from the track, unless something goes wrong, but it's still a whole lot more fun than the road Smile.

It works the opposite way when you stop riding for a few months, Suddenly everything feels faster.
My 750 was off the road for 18 months & you wouldn't believe how fast it feels now. I used to hammer it everywhere, but now I just dont have the confidence to do that. I've also started noticing kerbs, lamp posts, walls etc. They never used to bother me at all.

The lady has got it in one. And that's from a 125.

Also do some cycling, then you will realise that motorcycling is fast. Also try and filter quicker, very dangerous but gives a greater sensation of speed.

Deffo.

After few months of driving a lardy diesel I took the CBR out and the minute I hit the M4 slip road it went from the 'quite quick' of autumn to the 'this thing's a bleedin' missile' of the first day of spring. Cool

Riding every day takes half the fun out of it.
