SIX points within TWO years and you'll have to do it all over again.

From what you've said, and from what you've been told, all of us on BCF can only conclude that you must have 3 points on your licence already.

Yes ?

If not, then you've been wrongly informed.

I'm not prepared to go into this subject any further, because everyone will 'flame' me again Crying or Very sad and I don't want that Wink (everyone's out to 'get' The Old Geeza, ya' know Razz )

Two convictions eh?

So, you've been convicted of two crimes.

For what ?

And you personally believe 'THEY' are taking the piss Confused

So, what were YOUR crimes Question

I don't believe there is anything more in the law other than 6 points. Maybe someone has told you thinking that if you do an offence that would warrant 3 points, you'll get treated harshly due to your record and so get 6 resulting in losing your license.

Good point, you'll still get the full 6, but frankly if you're planning on getting 3 you shouldn't really be riding all that fast. Confused

The convictions are a whole different thing, but if you get 6 points alongside the convictions, they will rape you of your licence.

Move abroad for 2 years, come back all gone then.

I know what its like, my wife only passed her car test last year at (28!!!!!!!), so she has to be soooooo careful.

And living in the police camera state of west yorkshire, its been hard for her.

She literaly drives everywhere at the exact speed limit, if she sees a camera, she will cut the speed to 5mph below the speed limit. (These buggers flash you at 31 in 30s)

From the DVLA site.
IN10: Using a vehicle uninsured against third party risks.......... 6-8points

LC20: Driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence.......... 3-6 points

Quote:
The Road Traffic ( New Drivers) Act 1995

This Act will affect you if you passed your first GB driving test after 1 June 1997 when it came into force. If the number of valid penalty points shown on your driving licence total 6 or more during the two year probationary period immediately following your first driving test, your full driving licence will be revoked by DVLA until such time as you pass a further driving test.

Danny: Only if you have points on the license allready. Since you've had these convictions it would seem probable that you do, but you said you have no points Confused

Beefy, that's perfectly normal. If you allready have points they are taken into account, but only once you receive more. IE if you got 6points whilst on your provisional they will not take your license away as soon as you get it, but if you get any points at all you lose it straight away. This doesn't strike me as too unfair since points dissapear after a time. And it takes time for people to mature and learn, does it not.

However the points system is obviously not right for the times, as we now live in an age of speed cameras and intense traffic policing with the sole aim of catching speeding motorists.

Points are a good idea though, as if you have only fines, then you're basically allowing only the rich to break the law.

If you don't want to re-take your licence, don't ride like a prick.
