Do you mean powder coated? To have the fork legs sand blasted and re-coated it should cost around £60, that's what my friend paid anyhow.

Worth doing if they're knackered but personally wouldn't bother to be honest, they'll only start getting chipped as soon as you hit the road. Thumbs Up

No Andrew she does mean rechromed.

Costs about £60.00

Having a leg done now as new for this particular bike they cost over £300. Will let you know how it goes if you want.

Hi

Had some done years ago, although I did the stripping down. Place called HCP did it, Worksop way so not far from you.

All the best

Pattern stanchions are available for many bikes these days which often works out cheaper.

Didn't realise she wanted to have her bike featured on Pimp My Ride.

Confused
Almost every bike in the world has chromed fork legs, some are coated with titaniumn nitride but there is still hard chrome underneath.

Suspect she just wants to get rid of the pits in the forks so that they do not tear the seals to pieces.

All the best

Hi

The forks need to be totally stripped down, including taking the bushes off the fork tube.

Best off to support the bike securely at the front and drop the forks out then take your time. Then take them to pieces (remove inners, bushes, oil seals, top, damper rod, etc) and drop the inners off.

Budget on new seals. Seals and oil will not cost much.

Failing that you can get replacement fork inners for not that much. Probably barely more than getting the forks rechromed. We bought a pair of fork inners with seals and oil for Charlottes GPZ500 for about £150.

All the best

Keith
