Aprilia RX50

I think the aprilia rx 50 looks amazing in every way and that the bike is amazing, although i have heard that the engine is not all that good, is this because they have been driven by idiots that do not know how to ride a bike or are they just not that good an engine? Plus i was wondering what some of the speeds these bikes can reach when de-restricted or with a few performance upgrades.

I owned the 125 and mine was fine loved it. i could hit 60-70mph but not sure about the 50.

If a good priced one comes up get that. I just wished i got an rs125

The 50 will hit 50, just. That's without a 'big bore' and all that crap which is useless.

Good, sound bikes, they take abuse better than sports bikes, and if you drop it (which you most likely will, as all new riders do) the scratches are very minimal compared to faired bikes.

If you're planning on getting a 125, it's useful to learn the gears first, as well.

So do u recommend doing any modifications to the bike just to get that little bit more speed?

A sports exhaust is typical, but you won't get much more out of it. To be honest, any mods past a sports exhaust become stupid on a 50, as the most you'll get out of it will be another 15MPH, and the bike will be highly illegal.

Dont mod it keep it stock till you can afford a bigger bike.

Im offended you didnt pm me about this topic cheers dude. LoL. Well ask me anything you want and i can tell you.

The bike does 50-55 on the flat and 60+ down a big hill. (drestricted of course) I am planning on getting a full gianelli system that costs £129 and an 80cc bore for £160.

Great little bike though, really nice to ride, 6 gears, pulls well, beats all my mates anyway. Um really easy to handle and lean, had the pegs down a few times.

Bad sides are that parts are a cunt to get hold of, i just had to order spokes from france for it!!!! and had to wait like 2 weeks!!!

you goin down for that one jamie!!!! at least it beats your ts50 though i do admit mine has had more problems in 3 weeks than urs has all year!!! though this is due to me doping huge dirt jumps on the bugger and thus popping rear bearing and breaking spokes, oh well lifes a bitch
