anyone ridden one? Or know of anyone who has one?

Whats the deal any good. Better than the other 600's

I am after part ex'ing my CBR 600 - was gonna go for the RR, but have always had a soft spot for the Daytona and the new model seems really impressive.

According to the Bike write up it blows the spots off the current Jap 600's.

If you want one you will have to be quick with your deposit - if you leave it until you've ridden one (early next year) then you will be lucky to actually get a bike until this time next year.

Give me a shout if you're interested in placing a deposit and I'll sort you out.

By the sounds of the ride review it will also give you a blow job while you ride.

Me sceptical?

The one they rode they say is 95% production.
They had better tyres on it than I race with.

Would be nice if it really is that good, but it seems much more like ride have just sold out a bit.

G... Bike.

Plus Honda have the largest advertising budget for EMAP magazines, reflected by the scathing MCN preview of the bike (they hadn't even ridden it).

I for one am keeping an open mind but I do hope its as good as they say it is! Smile

Is that based on personal experience, if so, where and how much did it cost?

Wasn't there a similar topic about a week or so ago on the new Triumph? I see it as something different (but not something that looks a whole lot different from a 636), but not anything truly sensational; but then again I fear change Shocked

Must have been a (wet) dream I had! Laughing

Does look like a B1 636R in parts but the Triple factor makes it cool and its not a jap bike..... Cool Thumbs Up

there is a long thread about this bike (started by moi) see

https://www.bikechatforums.com/viewtopic.php?t=54514&highlight=675

or use the search feature Wink

It is now on https://www.triumph.co.uk/ and most dealers seem to have full details.

You can see one at the NEC show in oct.

PS: the more I look at it the less I think it looks like a copy of the chavasaki 636 !

If you place a deposit now then you are looking at delivery in May. It won't be long at this rate before all next years are sold.

I called Triumph headquarters 2 days after the D675 feature came out in Bike (for subscribers) which I believe is was the day the mag comes out in the shops. He told me that they had already taken 36 orders for the 50 limited edition grey ones!

I might call around and see if all the allocation has gone.

I like it, I dont think the pic does it justice + you wont need to clean a grey one so much.

I must admit, it does look extremely nice and i would love one.
But triumph have finally thrown enough cc's at there bike to beat the jap 600's.

But its half way between a 750 and a 600, so you cant really compare it to a 600. Although i think its the nicest looking bike released this year, and its english!!!

It also has 1 less cylinder. If the 750 twins (well, the 749) are compared to the 600 4's, then why not a 675 triple?

Remember, it's a triple, and the ducati 750 twin is usually considered to be similar to sports 600s.

They have placed it inbetween in the hope that they can have a rule change to race it in WSS.

If the road version does match up to the jap 06 4s it could be interesting.

I really like the 675, but I have to say the graphite doesn't look too nice in the pictures on Triumph's web site. And is that a 2006 R6 style rear number plate hanger?

This is quite a nifty page from Fowlers.co.uk:

https://www.fowlers.co.uk/triumph_675.html

With the instrument cluster being able to provide so much data from the ECU, does it use CAN (Controller Area Network) technology like, if I remember correctly, Ducati?

The bike looks stunning. I won't be changing mine for a couple of years but it will be near the top of the list when the time comes.

The dealers will have them in the show rooms from Janurary, but they'll need software downloading before they can fire them up. Software's expected to be released in March.

All Triumph bikes have had bugs in, I'll be waiting at least for the 07 model before I get one. They discover bugs in the 06, and fix for 07. Of course, wait even longer, and they'll probably stroke it to 700 for 08. Wink

Just going on current trends of course.

Pretty much all bikes have bugs in them. Honda V-tec system anyone? 'busa subframe? GSXR1000 K5 frame? R6 gearbox?

All the best
