To cut a long story short I have bought a new rear wheel from Honda for my NSR 125 (2002).

I can take the old wheel with ease.
I can get the tyre swapped from the old wheel onto to the new wheel no problem.

However, I have a few concerns:

Arrow 1) When changing sprockets and disks over, do I need new dust seals, or can I just reuse the old ones.

Arrow 2) The new wheel came with bearings, do I need to grease them at all.

Arrow 3) Are there are any other surprises to look for.

Thanks in advance Thumbs Up

firstly changing a wheel is easy as hell, tho can be a bit fiddly (i.e using a paddock stand to get the wheel off the ground means you have to lift the wheel up and into place with one hand then slide the axle in with the other, making sure no spacers fall out and that everything is in line)

when changing the discs over unscrew them very slowly a little bit at a time in oppostie rotation i.e 12oclock, then the 6oclock one, 3 oclock then the 9oclock one etc, same with sprocket

dont know how the nsr sprocket is fixed but i assume it will be a rubber cush drive that pulls out and mounts directly into your new wheel

the bearings are usually greased for life so no need to touch them,

you dont have to change anything unless it looks like it needs it, if your grease seals fall out like they did with my thundercat once then get the wheel looked at, same if your bearings seem loose.

check the bearings run freely within the housing too and that the rubber seals are in good nick

when putting your wheel back on simply squirt wd40 onto the spacers and the axle and away you go.

When we're talking about wheels, why are the NSR wheels 100 and 130, while the wheels on RS125, Mito and GPR125 are 110 and 150? Makes it look like a 50cc Embarassed

Hi

The Mito and RS both use radial tyres while the NSR uses cross plies. About 140~150 section tyres are the cross over point between the 2.

All the best

So what are the differences between the two? And would it work to put radial tyres on an NSR or vice versa?

Thanks

Hi

The NSR wheels are too narrow for the wider tyres. You might squeeze them on their but the handling would be awful.

All the best
