Greetings fellow motorbicycle utilisers!

Got me A2 course booked, so i'll be L-plateless soon.

Was just recently looking at a GPz600R at a garage nearby. C reg (1986?) Reasonably priced at 1295 shiny gold coins.

Just wandering wether this is a realistic option as a first big bike? can i restrict it? and how much is a restriction kit?

cheers guys and girls.

meep meep woot!

that sounds a bit steep to me
you can get a 2000 thundercat (sports 600) for £1500

I dont know much about the gpz600 but I have heard they are good from someone. I doubt I'd pay more than £500.

look on ebay as you could either get a better bike for that money or a similar bike cheaper.

Unfortunately there arent any gpz600s on ebay at the moment as I've just checked.

I dont know anything about restricting bikes.

It's a dealership, am I right? Buying an old bike from a dealership is never a particularly good move in my opinion, I've had nothing but trouble when it comes to cars.

Consider you can get a 2000 Bandit for that kind of money on eBay, and if you hunt, spend some time on it, go for the people who look like they're being honest, you could end up with a true bargain.

I don't know much, but that bikes near on 20 years old. More than £600? Forget it.

I hope it is brand new for that money!!

Shop around and look for a much more modern 600, you could get a bike at least 10 years newer such as a ninja zx6r f series or cbr600 or thundercat for that money!

As the others have said, that sounds like a pretty terrible price.

A quick search came up with this to give you an idea:
Quote:
FOR SALE
Kawasaki GPZ600R Red in colour. C Registraiton. 36,000 miles. 2 months Mot. forks seals re worked, new starter motor, braided lines, new battery, just serviced. Good reliable bike £800 ono

I'm sure you'd get it down a bit with haggling as well.

Totally agree with everyone else, just do an Ebay search within 25 miles. If you find something ask if they can deliver, at least then you know it will do 25 miles Smile You should be able to find a bike for 500-600, just try to get one a long MOT.

GPZ600R (aka the ZXR600A i believe) 1986, good condition, i would pay no more than £750 for a non crashed one.
Damage, high milage, dodgy history would about halve that.
