Riding thru Yatelely in Hampshire the other day, its was Friday evening at rush hour (30-40mph thru the town anyway), some kid on a scooter caught me up, looked me up and down and started to overtake the traffic.
I cringed as there was no real need for overtaking, as we were doing a reasonable speed, but also ahead I spotted the line of traffic stopping to let someone out of a side road. Needless to say the lad on the scooter didnt see what was happening...and sure enough as the car nudged its way out, the scooter had to take evasive action and swerve out into the other lane. Luckily no vehicle was in the other lane and he got away with it....
But my heart was in my mouth, watching a potential accident...
As it was the traffic moved on, the cars dispersed and I was behind the scooter kid in no time. He nearly created an accident for his bad riding, and is probably completely unaware about the whole thing.
Im sure it was some sort of testosterone driven thing, something to do with the fact he'd ridden past a large bike and decided to show me a thing or two.
Had he stopped somewhere, I might well have stopped and told him about his dangerous riding...
Had the potential accident happened, I would have been a witness to the fact he was riding dangerously without due care and attention. ____________________ Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter, and those who matter won't mind - Dr. Seuss |

Sounds like a normal ride on motorbike or pushbike for me. ____________________ Pictorgraphicalfantastical |

I've had a few like that, scooters and smaller bikes. I'm fairly sure that it's down to them wanting to try and take a scalp of a larger bike. It tends to happen mostly on my commute to work in the morning and I'm not in any particular rush to get there!
If someone wants to come past me down blind crests with double white lines etc, then I'm only to happy to move over and watch the show.
Funny thing is it doesn't tend to happen when I'm on my way home.
I have found that as I've got older I'm more likely to be the one holding back, must be an old age mortality thing, as I've done some pretty stupid things in the past. |

I tend to get L platers or Sports bike riders (normally T-Shirt & Lid) arsing about around me, Had one the other day create his very own middle lane at some traffic lights (he wasn't happy sitting behind me, he had to be at the side of me you see...)scream away from the lights only to nearly get wiped out by a car coming out of a side road...which was nice ____________________ Well, I'm sure I'd feel much worse if I weren't under such heavy sedation.

Well, he was an idiot irrespective of whether he had a license. Overtaking moving traffic, then filtering at such a speed, whilst having your head up your arse is not only worthy of a circus, but worthy of a slap aswell. What a knuckle dragger...
