If it doesn't start after a few attempts then you are going to get some unburnt fuel on the plug - at least it's a sign that fuel is getting through
If you've had the plugs out to clean them any excess fuel should have evaporated by the time you put them back, so no worries  |

Sweet - that's exactly what I wanted to hear, thanks.
On the plus side of all this (providing it does start when I put the battery back in - T minus 3 hours), I found out that the GS500 has specific spark plus for use when the temperature is less than 5 degrees, and ordered myself a pair of them for the winter. |
