Say that I were to overtake someone, and it was a bit of a dangerous overtake, but they got pissed off and beeped, and then memorised or wrote down your numberplate. What could they do, would the police take it seriously etc?

I don't want saftey nazi's telling me I shouldn't have done it, if you're only going to say that then don't post Thumbs Up

Thanks,
Matt

Technically you could get done for it, but I doubt the police would take it further, and even if they were planning to, the driver wouldn't get any witnesses so it would be his word against yours, the case would be dismissed. But if you hadn't caused any damage or whatever, the police most probably would do bugger-all.

They can report you to a local Police office or phone the police or whatever.
If the police deem the inncident merits a vist to your house then they might.
But they are tooooo busy to deal with crime and stuff these days Laughing

I think with Sussex, they would need at least two independant people to report a "issue" with a driver before they'd consider taking action, unless some other form of evidence (e.g. video etc..)

Ah ok, thanks!

It should be OK, it was an overtake on a long straight wide piece of road which is NSL, but this old person was doing 30 so I overtook. There was another car coming but they were ages away as it was a straight road, I had passed them a long time ago but the time I passed the car coming the other way. It wasnt dangerous really.

They just beeped lol. I hope the coppers dont come because the bike is not restricted as it should be.

Matt Thumbs Up

Nothing to worry about. It would be his word against yours and if anyone was at fault it was the car driver for going so slow.
