Well, it stopped your arm from being full of road at least. Would I be right in saying that is a friction burn from the lining of a textile jacket? I have noticed that a lot of these armoured jackets don't have straps to hold the armour in place during a crash. The cordura grips the road but your arm moves inside it causing a nasty burn on the nylon lining.
I had a similar (but much, much smaller) burn on my elbow after I highsided my GPZ and my jacket has webbing straps to fix the armour down.
Deer must have been near cut in half at 65mph! ____________________ “Rule one: Always stick around for one more drink. That's when things happen. That's when you find out everything you want to know.”

Your arm made me wince, those really hurt. My jacket doesn't have straps for the armour, should I be worried?
Get well soon mate, bad luck. |

Hi
Danny got quite a bad friction burn falling off a minimoto, very easy to get probably most common injury in a spill.
And like someone said, at least all the flesh is still there and not ground into the asphalt .

i've been using my straps today, no may i want friction burns off my jacket. If you wear plenty layers, or a tight long-sleeved top, that will probably be an affective measure, as the layers will slip b4 u get friction burn.

OUch, hope you heal quick and chase that bastid down. I'm veggie but I'd shot his j-walking ass!
I also have just bought my 1st kit and its textile (no as little leather as poss here) but again has no straps. I've noticed that the armour can move yes... am I prone to burns even with inner lining in? I'll roast with lining and a long sleave top
then again I won't get roast skin when I fall..
Any tips for newbie are welcome, Ta.
