Hi guys,

When I check my chain tension, the chain hits the bottom of the chain guard... Is this right?

Is says on the guard 16mm free play (I think)

Should this be 8mm play up 8mm play down or just 16mm play pushing down?

Thanks :0

Hmmm....Confused

You've got me questioning my own methods now. Thinking

I give my hornet 2-3cm of play (at the very most), and thats pushing it up towards the underneath of the swingarm and measuring from the relaxed position pushing up.

Catch my drift? Confused

It should be 16mm one way for yours. Not 8mm...Laughing Might be a little tight like that!!

If you've adjusted it so that pushing down hard it will move less than 10mm, then it's far far too tight.

You will eventually get used to "feeling" when a chain is too tight or too loose. It's not about distances and measurements...

Make sure you adjust it at a tightspot, if there are any. This may make the chain feel loose at other parts, but better this than being completely taut at certain points.
