Ok so it had to happen ...

i trashed the R6 tonight on the way home from work..

over a crest...front end light ( no i wasnt wheelying ) throttle either stuck open or i had a funny grip on the throttle ....cant quite recall...remember the engine was screaming though..

i panic braked and the front wheel locked and slipped out ..

fell onto my right side pretty heavy, slid rolled and tumbled for 30 feet or so bike slid for aagggggggggeeeeeeeeeeeees Neutral

got up and could feel mega road rash on legs and pain in my hip

went to bike which had spilled its insides all over Bromleys finest road ...

Exclamation big ass hole in the right side engine thingy ( technical term ) oil everywhere
Exclamation cracked screen , big lump missing
Exclamation brake lever fucked
Exclamation all RHS plastics dead
Exclamation exhaust ....dead.
Exclamation footpeg dead

Me.... left big toe somehow bruised through my SIDI's with little damage to them
left knee nicely swollen and road rashed
left side of neck stiff and sore
left hand numb and bruised
right knee ...minor rash
right thigh ...bruising and swelling
right hip ....major bruising and some nasty soft tissue damage
right upper arm bruised and bad soft tissue damage

hoody top ruined Sad was wearing it over the top of my leather jacket..

gloves torn first layer of leather

lid scraped RHS and visor fucked

boots worn left toe

and dammit i was only wearing jeans but they got torn too Sad

oh well ...... i feel bloody lucky that is all thats damaged to be honest....and im glad no one else was involved

please standby for " how do i streetfighter my R6 " thread when im not so grumpy Smile

nite nite

(ex R6) Jonny

PS i might post pics if i can get the camera working

PPS forgot to add thanks to the 2 black cabs that drove straight past me laying in the road, the bus driver who drove up the kerb to go past my wrecked bike

but on a serious note thanks to the car driving biker who stopped and helped me move the bike, the biker local who came out to help and *cough* the traffic car that stopped and took me to hospital Very Happy

cheers

Glad to hear you're ok, don't worry about the damages to the bike, I'm sure you bent coppers can just impound someone elses bike and rob the parts off that. Wink

Hi

Ouch, but you sound not too bad and the bike should be fairly easy to fix.

All the best

Oooooooooooo bugger.

I hope you are feeling better soon, keep that toe elevated and the road rash clean as killa said it's really important - loads of vit. E cream it'll heal a treat without scarring.

Nice to know people still stop to help Thumbs Up

Take it easy, and I grant full permission to feel utterly sorry for yourself and cry over broken bits of bike.

at least you still got the 748 though rite?

and why were people saying you would stack it?
glad your relatively ok. restore imo, will resell for more, and remember that if a plastic section is still fitted (not hanging off) you may aswell use it. ok so the bike wont look as nice, but it will function just aswell. do the mechanical stuff first.

maybe its time to get something a bit slower for a while

glad you escaped with minor injuries
shame about the bike

More importantly I hope all that spilled oil was got up by someone. I wdnt want another biker to slip on your mess.

I guess maybe the traffic cop did it.

If you get the chance it might be worth visiting the spot with some sand just in case there is some oil still on the road.

bad news about the bike mate, glad your ok.

Makes me feel a little better about my little roll down Clapham high street the other day!

I'm still not riding but should be fit for Monday (wheely school)

Thankfully I was wearing textile trousers Razz and got no gravel rash, although my knee is seriously mashed after the bike decided to land handlebar first into the back of it! Rolling Eyes

Glad your not to badly hurt.
I say track prep it Wink Thumbs Up
